What's New
Referendum Fact of the Week!
Each week from now until April 2, we’ll take this opportunity to educate our families on the upcoming Operating Referendum.
At last month’s School Board meeting, the Board approved adding a Non-recurring Operational Referendum question on the April 2 Spring Election ballot. The District is asking voters to allow us to EXCEED the STATE-IMPOSED REVENUE LIMIT by $1.25M in the 24-25 school year, $1.5M in the 25-26 school year, and $1.75M in the 26-27 school year.
The key takeaways to remember are 1) This ask is not for ADDITIONAL dollars. We are not asking for $1.25M to cover new costs. It is to keep our budget consistent with prior years. 2) We operate with a ~$10M budget. The state is only allowing us to levy ~$8.5M next year, unless we get voter approval to keep our levy at $10M. 3) Because we are not asking for more than our recent levy amounts, the mill rate will continue to drop as the communities in our District continue to grow. This results in a tax neutral solution for taxpayers.
