Trailblazer Times
August 30, 2024
Hello, Trailblazer Families!
This newsletter is full of lots of school information, so please read to the end! We had another fantastic week here at Rollins! Students have used morning meeting time to learn about emotional safety (how to keep others and the environment emotionally safe for all). Students have settled well into the routines and expectations of our grade levels and school. We are excited about our new Benchmark Reading and Writing Workshop curriculum, and the learning taking place!
Please remember there is NO SCHOOL Monday, September 2, due to the Labor Day holiday. We will see you back here on Tuesday, September 3!
Third grade tested in our ATLAS testing platform this week, and it went very well! We hope to have data soon in order to make the best learning plans for our students! Kindergarten, first, and second grades will begin next week.
Please refrain from allowing students to wear Heelys or any similar type of shoe with wheels. This can pose a huge safety risk for the student on our concrete floors, and this causes a distraction within our learning environment.
Repeats from Last Week
Car riders, please use the car lines for drop-off. We are getting faster and faster as everyone settles into the routine. Please make sure car tags are visible when you are in the parking lot. When students are dropped off in the parking lot or walked in, this increases the chance of safety issues arising and slows down our car line. Also, please remind students to load and unload as quickly as possible so we can keep the line moving smoothly! We appreciate your help! There is NO drop-off in the back parking lot, except for Pre-K students.
Cars cannot park in the Westbrook subdivision to pick up kids, as this is a walker line area. Reports of blocked driveways and blocked trash cans on pick-up day could result in Tontitown Police Department being notified by neighborhood citizens. For the safety of students and staff, Arkansas law states that a driver of a motor vehicle shall not use a handheld wireless telephone while operating a motor vehicle when passing a school building or in a school zone during school hours when children are present and outside the building. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students and staff safe.
If you have not already downloaded the Springdale Schools app, please do so today! This will be a district-wide communication platform for teachers and families. Please see important information below on Rooms!

To help with flow of school dismissal, we ask that parents don't pick up and park at the back by the gate until 3:40 to avoid interfering with buses/school transportation. If you need to pick up earlier, notify school before 2:30 and use car line.
