This year, the city of Robbinsdale is not allowing us to use the building at Sanborn Park. We will use the outdoor shelter that has picnic tables underneath. There are satellites onsite for bathrooms.
We hope to see you at Sanborn Park on Saturday. We will say prayer at 9:15 a.m. and then we are off walking, running or biking. Along the route, you will find three interactive stations sponsored by our SAC committee: selfie station, bubbles, and dance party. Please post your photos to our parent Facebook page.
When you return from your route, you may enjoy hot dogs, chips, and cookies sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and our PTC group. Our middle schoolers have also planned some games at Sanborn Park for the younger students to enjoy.
The MN Nice Cream Truck will also be available at Sanborn Park. They have a variety of ice cream selections and coffee. They will be at Sanborn Park from 10:00-12:00 pm.
We are hoping for a successful marathon with our goal of $45,000. We need everyone to do their part in collecting $300 pledges per child so we meet our goal.
2024 Marathon -Saturday, October 5 at Sanborn Park 9:15 a.m. Our school goal: $45,000
We have achieved 45% of our marathon goal collecting $20,470 so far. Please continue with your fundraising efforts. We appreciate the pledges that have been turned in so far.
Our goal is for EVERY student to bring in the required $300 fundraising goal for the Marathon. The Marathon is also a celebration and a chance for people to come together. We have fun walking, running or biking. All funds remain here at Sacred Heart and they are used to offset the rising costs of providing a quality education. So if you are asked, “Where does the money go?” It truly goes to support every part of our mission.
Please sign up for PledgeStar to secure online donations for our 2024 Marathon. You may still collect cash/checks and we will enter them to your family PledgeStar web page so you can track your total.

Middle School Youth Group-Every Wednesday
Where: Good Shepherd Catholic Church
145 Jersey Ave. S. Golden Valley, MN (only a few minutes away from Sacred Heart)
Need more info: Contact Katie Kruc, youth minister, kkruc@shrmn.org
For the past few weeks, I've had a good gut check when Wednesday night came around. During the Northwest Catholic Youth Group meetings, we're answering the question of what it looks like to live out joy, how it's different and deeper than happiness, how it has many parts to it, but it is very simple. Even though I'm part of the team that helps to put on these nights and teach the messaGE, I think some of the students there understand me better.
These past two weeks have been truly amazing experiences. Seeing kids from three different communities come together and not only learn about Who Jesus is and how much His love covers everything, but also just have a time set aside to have fun during the busyness of the week has been very refreshing to see.
There is no shortage of these nights. Every Wednesday is a new opportunity for 6-8th graders to uncover a little bit more about the possible depths of joy, of friendship, and the beauty when urgent things are set aside for a time and the important things can take center stage (not to mention the snack bar is on an elevated level I didn't even know existed). Please join us!
Athletic Policy-Attendance, Academics, Behavior
Eligibility
All participants represent our school and parish community. As representatives to the school and community the students who participate in sports agree to abide by the following:
A. Absences/Attendance:
If a student is absent from school during the day, he/she will be excluded from practice and/or game that night.
Students must arrive at school by 4th period. If students leave school due to illness, he/she will be excluded from practice and/or games that night.
Unexcused absence from practice/game may result in one game suspension.
B. Academics:
Academic progress will be reviewed periodically.
Any indications of missing assignments/work or lack of progress in content areas may result in a temporary or permanent removal from the sport until work is adequate.
Any failing grade of an F: (0%-59%), and/or two D's (60-69%) in subject areas, an Incomplete or Unsatisfactory received as a trimester grade or any time during the trimester, will result in immediate suspension.
All suspensions will be for a minimum of one week. All work must also be brought to completion and passing before the student will be reinstated.
No student may participate at practices or attend games as a team member during the removal period.
Parents and coaches will be notified in writing of action taken by school administration and/or faculty.
Once a student has been suspended and reinstated for the academic reasons stated above, he/she may not be reinstated a second time within the same athletic season. If work is not made up in a two week period, students will not be reinstated.
C. Behavior:
Inappropriate behavior by a team member and/or his/her parent/s is an option for suspension from the team or removal from the premise
Behavior guidelines apply to all school related activities or events.

The girls’ basketball season runs from the beginning of January into the 2nd week of March.

Need help paying for tuition?
MN Fundraising Initiative (MNFI) secures contracts with over 23 venues in the greater Twin Cities area including Target Field, Target Center, Canterbury, and US Bank to operate food and beverage concessions stands at their events.
MNFI organizes teams of volunteers from all over the state of MN and WI who work together to run these stands. In turn, MNFI receives donations from these venues. The donations are then used to award grants to families in local communities to allow youth to attend private school, such as Sacred Heart Catholic School and participate in enrichment activities they may not otherwise be able to enjoy. Checks are mailed directly to Sacred Heart in your name.
Many of our school families use this organization to help pay for tuition.
