Principals Message:
A shout out to the CHS Class of 1974, who had their 50th High School reunion this weekend and toured the school. Hearing the stories and traditions that have endured through the generations shows the greatness of our interconnected Centennial Community and emphasizes the meaning of "Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle." Way to go, Eagles!
It was also fantastic to see so many student-athletes joining Centennial Sports teams as we started our Fall sports this past Monday. It was a great start, so come out and cheer on our Eagles.
We have several important dates coming up this week:
- Aug. 27th - Fall Sports Parent Night in CHS Auditorium @ 6:30 PM
Aug. 28th - Food for Families Distribution @ 4 PM
Sept. 3rd - Freshman Orientation/10-12 Open House from 6:30-7:30 PM
Sept. 4th - CHS Student Based Health Center Opens for School Year
Sept. 4th - Senior Sunrise @ 6:15 AM @ CHS Stadium
Sept. 4th - First Day of School: GR 1-12
Check your class schedule: If you have not done so make sure to log log into your CHS Student or ParentVUE account to see your schedule. So please review your schedule in StudentVue/ParentVue, and if you believe that there is a necessary change (for example, missing a core class), request for the change must be filled out this form CHS Schedule Change Request Form 2024-2025 (Fall).
CHS Cell Phone Procedures 2024-2025: With all the news from other schools in our area, please remember our CHS cell phone policy as we start this school year: It is our Centennial High School Mission that each of our students will demonstrate high academic standards in an equitable, supportive school culture and graduate college career-ready. So, we are committed to our students learning in a safe and supportive environment by supporting our students to be fully engaged in learning and keeping our halls and public spaces device-free during class time. Cell phones and other electronic devices distract from our mission and have also led to students feeling unsafe, cyber-bullying, student tardiness, off-task behavior, and peer conflict. So, for the 2024-2025 school year, the use of cellphones, headphones/wireless headphones, and other personal devices is not allowed in classrooms, restrooms, and school offices during class time/Instructional time unless otherwise documented in a student support plan for this coming school year. This policy includes bathroom breaks during instructional time. Students are permitted to use cell phones, headphones, and personal devices during the following times:
Before school, during lunch, and after school
During after-school activities/sports (with permission)
At evening or weekend activities
See the Centennial High School CHS Cell Phone Procedures 2024-2025 for any questions, and we will be sharing more information as we get closer to the start of the school year.
Also, make sure you have reviewed the CHS Student Handbook 2024-2025 for any questions.
We look forward to seeing all of you in a week and a half on Wednesday, september 4th as we get ready to start this exciting school year. and remember, "Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle" at CHS!

As you may remember from last spring, there were several opportunities to choose and edit your classes for this year. We wish to begin this school year with a focus on being settled in classes and learning on Day One, and we are only allowing necessary schedule changes BEFORE school starts. So please review your schedule in StudentVue/ParentVue, and if you believe that there is a necessary change (for example, missing a core class), request for the change must be filled out this form CHS Schedule Change Request Form 2024-2025 (Fall). The form is set to open on 8/21 and close on 8/28. Counselors will only consider requests submitted this way (No emails, StudentVue messages, or phone calls). Students’ requests for changes to trimester one should be made on this form by August 28th. No schedule change requests that involve Trimester One classes will be allowed after August 28th.

If you are not taking a Language Arts class at CHS, your picture day will be September 9th, depending on the first letter of your last name. You should receive an email with Picture ordering information. Even if you are not going to order pictures, you need to get your picture taken because they are used for your school ID, which you must have, yearbook, safety identification, and other functions. So, it is important to get your picture taken, so please plan accordingly.
Reminders:
CHS T1 Assigned Lunch Schedule: We will have two lunches at CHS this year, and your assigned lunch (1st - start of 3rd period or 2nd- end of third period) is based on your 3rd-period class and may change each trimester. Your whole 3rd-period class goes to lunch at the same time as lunch period. Here is a map of 3rd-period teachers, their 3rd-period classrooms, and what assigned lunch for the first trimester. Check your schedule in StudentVUE or ParentVUE to find the name and room of your 3rd-period teacher, and check the map below to find out your assigned lunch.
September is CHS National Hispanic Heritage Month
September is CHS Hispanic Heritage Month. Please join us in celebrating CHS Hispanic Heritage Month. This is a time dedicated to recognizing the cultural experiences and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx individuals who represent 600+ languages and dialects.
