GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION STEAM BANNER CEREMONY!
Georgia State Superintendent of Schools, Richard Woods, visited Coleman Middle School last Tuesday, September 6th to issue our official banner for the 2022-2027 GA DOE STEAM Certification! Coleman Middle School is now the first certified and only recertified middle school in the state!
Among the guests who attended the ceremony were GCPS Board Member Dr. Tarece Johnson, GCPS Superintendent, Dr. Calvin Watts, former educator and Georgia State Representative, Dr. Brooks P. Coleman Jr., former Coleman Middle School Principal Dr. JW Mozley, and members of the state and county staff. We also welcomed our two PTA Co-Presidents, Susan Witucki and Jen Ballantine, and one of our Vice-Presidents, Abby Garland. Our amazing Coleman Middle School STEAM Coordinator, administrative team were also there, and teacher of the year, Kelli Sinclair were also invited. Finally, we had a group of students who participated in the recertification last Spring. One of our student Nova Ngo, spoke about her "STEAM Journey" on our behalf.
Many of our guests have supported Coleman and have played an important role in the recertification, and we wanted to make sure we showed our appreciation and invited them to celebrate with us! Congratulations again to the Coleman Middle School community!!! We are framing our new banner and we will be sending pictures soon!

MESSAGE FROM OUR WONDERFUL PTA!
PTA Fall Fundraiser:
Our annual PTA Fall Fundraiser kicks off this Monday, September 12th and ends on Friday, September 30th. We are raising money for our teachers so that they can spoil our students! Teachers can request grants for technology and supplies for their classrooms or clubs. The students and staff will experience their first viewing of a promotional video on the Fall Fundraiser during Homeroom on Monday, September 12th. Students, staff, teachers, parents, and community members may donate money through cash, check, or Cash App. Money will be collected by PTA Board members every Thursday morning, including September 15th, September 22nd, and September 29th, in the car rider lanes and bus lanes. Be sure to include your student's name, homeroom teacher's name, and grade level with each payment as each grade level with top donations will earn gift cards from local vendors. Raffle winners will be announced on Fridays, including September 16th, September 23rd, and September 30th. Classes with the most participation in each grade level will receive an ice cream party. The teacher with the most class donations will be able to wear jeans for the week. Let's show our teachers how much we love and support them by donating in a BIG way for Teacher Grants. Students will benefit from these technology and instructional supplies all year!
