Club meets after school every Wednesday in October and November except for Nov. 22.

Please make a tentative note in your calendars to join us at ACES in the early evening on November 9 to gather as a community for student-planned activities, and for an opportunity to meet staff/teachers and learn about what students are working on this semester. We look forward to seeing you there! More info to come as the evening takes shape.

Mark your calendars for a short zoom meeting to connect with our College & Career Counselor/High School & Beyond Coordinator Patti Stracener and learn about how to support your seniors this year. There are two times available for a Senior Families Intro meeting (both on zoom):

• Tuesday Oct. 10, 7pm
• Wednesday Oct. 11, 1pm

Drop in on zoom anytime between 9:30-10:30am on Wednesday, October 18, for Office Hours with Blake Baird, ACES Principal. Bring your questions and suggestions, tell us more about how we can support your student, or just drop in to say hi.

Many of our families are experiencing circumstances that qualify them for free or reduced lunch and this benefit also translates to other free resources at school and in the community. Although free lunch happens automatically for all students at ACES, there are two forms to complete to have fees reduced or waived in the district for things like ASB cards, athletic events, uniforms, some testing fees, and more. In order to qualify for these benefits, there are two forms you must fill out:

You must activate your account in ParentSquare to complete these forms -- creating an account takes about two minutes. See the district's ParentSquare help page or contact Family Liaison Julie Hills for assistance at HillsJB@mukilteo.wednet.edu or (425) 366-3941.

Club students are having a great time and dipping their toes into a bunch of fun activities. Last week our students had a chance to earn their food handler cards, make brownies, play basketball or pickleball, work on art projects, and begin planning sewing projects. If you have any extra fabric laying around, bring it to ACES and we'll put it to good use! This week students planned a Mario Kart tournament.

Hello Families! We are the counseling team here at ACES. We are here to assist your student and your family in any way that we can. We provide support for your student's academic progress, social-emotional wellbeing, and post-secondary preparation. Please feel free to call us at ANY time with any questions or concerns you may have.

ACES has a small resource room in the library to provide items that students may need at school to be get through the day ready to learn. We need your help to keep it filled! Donations can be left in the front office between 7-3, M-F.

Please keep us in mind when you are cleaning out your closets!

Last Friday, ACES students and staff participated in Orange Shirt Day. They wore orange and turned the campus orange to acknowledge Indigenous children forced to attend Indian Boarding Schools in the United States and Canada. Students created ribbons, bracelets, necklaces, and amazing art to give away as gifts. Every child matters!

Students in Environmental Science did some pond water testing last week right in front of the school. Testing pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen and nitrates. Lots of laughter and enjoying the rainy day!
