The upcoming STAAR is an opportunity for our Grizzlies to showcase all they have learned this school year! We encourage our students to approach the assessments with confidence, knowing they are well-prepared.

We will not accept any visitors during STAAR testing days due to CLOSED CAMPUS.

We are over the moon excited about our GFE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY GRADUATES. Our “Respectful Bears”🐻 has demonstrated a STRONG CULTURE OF PRIDE this school year!

Thank you for getting our scholars to school before the Tardy Bell (8:10 AM).

If parents arrive after 8:10 AM, please park and walk students to front office to sign-in on the computer near the bright pink sign-in sheet. Parents, please ensure you have a visitor’s badge before entering the main hallways of the campus building. All parents must show their State ID (e.g., Drivers’ License) when entering a building.

Parents, we have made it to testing season, packing time for items that must be relocated to the Flex School, and end-of-year celebrations…We will not have Family Lunch for the remainder of the year.

• Exceptions for non-testing days: Birthdays

All transportation changes must be submitted via phone call (832.484.5700) to GFE Front Office before 2:30 PM. Thanks!

• Parents please remember that all K/1 walker parents MUST show the walker tag for your student to be released. We would like to sustain our safety measure. If you need a new tag, please let your teacher know.

During our recent Spring Open House, we were pleased to host our Title I Meeting, where parents and guardians had the opportunity to learn more about how our school supports student learning. The meeting covered important topics such as curriculum, academic resources, and how Title I funding is used to enhance instruction. Families also received information on ways to stay involved and partner with teachers to ensure student success.

We appreciate everyone who attended and engaged in these valuable discussions!

Construction will begin June 1st. Students and staff will return to our NEWLY RENOVATED Greenwood Forest Elementary building in August of 2026!

Parents, the clinic will stop approving birthday snacks on April 30. Please get your child's snacks approved early if you want the class to celebrate during May.

Students must be fever-free for 24 hours without the help of medications before returning to school. Using medications to lower a temperature does not make the student less contagious and can lead to illnesses being spread to other students.

• Please place extra clothes in student's bags in case of accidents or spilled food for students in Grade K-2.
• The clinic needs a 2-weeks notice if you are bringing snacks for your child’s class. Please email Nurse Brown if you have any questions.
• Parents must drop all medications off in the clinic due to paperwork that is required.

Greenwood Forest is a Parent University Campus. Every parent/family is welcome! No registration is needed. We encourage you to attend our events and make sure that you sign in to receive credit.

Upon attending 5 events throughout the school year, you will be eligible to attend our graduation ceremony in May. We look forward to partnering with you this school year to support your student’s success!

*Two events must be district-wide events to receive credit for graduation.
