Another resource for you is Naviance. You can search colleges, careers, do assessments, and much more. Naviance can be found through your Clever account on Samohi's website.

One last thing to keep in mind, scholarships are available for lower grade levels - why not apply!? Check out the websites below and register.

We survived the bulk of the college applications - Congratulations!

Now it's time to finish the financial aid process and continue to do well in your classes.

If SMC is on your radar, please start that process now. Check your emails daily, open your portal accounts for each school, and make sure you reach out if you need help! Our Drop-In hours are below along with our Calendly links.

First you will need to CHECK YOUR EMAIL

• CHECK THEM DAILY
• All information will go to your email

Next, create your PORTALS - these are the gate keepers to all the college information - including admission decisions, financial aid, transcript requests, document requests, process to commit by May 1, etc...

• YES, each one will need a unique user name and password
• YES, you will need to make one for each college
• YES, you will need to check them often

Midyear Transcripts are also know as 7th semester transcripts, senior transcripts, or fall grades. Essentially, colleges want to see last semester's grades. Check your portal(s) to see if the college(s) you've applied to require it:

• YES - even if you requested your transcripts last semester you will need to order another set of transcripts because it has your first semester grades on it

• Private schools will likely ask for your fall semester grades
• CSUs might ask for your transcript
• UCs DO NOT want them. I repeat UCs DO NOT want them
• Check your PORTALS
  

Midyear Transcript requests are due by January 25, 2021 via Naviance

If you have not submitted your FAFSA, CA Dream Act Application (CADAA), or CSS Profile, do it NOW!! The sooner the better. You may be eligible for financial assistance to help pay for college!
