From the desk of Principal Zeigler
I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend. They are always nice when they come along.
Mr. Joel (Joe El) Aviles has joined the Brayton community as our new Head Custodian. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Aviles to Brayton. We are very happy to have him here.
The Lost and Found is once again overflowing, please remind your children to check it for any lost items.
Congratulations to the third grade for their Immigrant Round Table. What a wonderful way to learn about members of the Brayton community. Everyone has a story, all we have to do is listen.
Enjoy your weekend.
In Partnership,
Shane Zeigler

Red Flag Days🚩
Just a friendly reminder: In the morning, students will always line up outside in assigned areas. Supervision begins at 8:05 and doors open for students at 8:15am. The school day begins at 8:15am.
When there are mornings with inclement weather, we may call a Red Flag Day.
During inclement weather days, red flags are flown. Inclement weather consists of heavy precipitation or extreme cold. This information can also be found in the Brayton School Family Handbook.
Students are allowed to bring umbrellas to school.

On inclement weather mornings, many will be driving their children to school and dropping them off. Inclement weather mornings are those mornings where there is heavy precipitation or extreme cold. A red flag will fly on both Myrtle Ave. and the Junior Playground to indicate an “in-day” arrival. On red flag days, students may enter the school at 8:05 am and proceed to the gym, where they will remain under aide supervision until 8:15. Teachers will meet their classes at 8:15 am, when the school day begins. Please ensure that students are dressed appropriately for the weather.

Citizens of the Month (2G and 3I)
Thank you to the Brayton Bobcat community! With your help, January’s reusable bag collection was a huge success! As a result, the collection has been extended through the end of February. 2G and 3I will continue to collect reusable grocery bags and donate them to G.R.A.C.E. Each Friday the bags will be picked up by a member of G.R.A.C.E. and then used for their food distribution program. Thank you for your continued support in making this a worthwhile and successful service project!
Sincerely,
Rob Gannon and Christina Inghilterra
