Sunday, September 8`, 2024 Weekly STAR Family Updates
Good afternoon parents! This is Mrs. Traumuller, the Proud Morehead Principal, with the weekly reminders and updates!
We have quite a lot of information this week, so make sure that you are taking note and are by your calendar.
Students got their One Cards last week. If your child does not yet have theirs, we are working this week to upload pictures to have all of our STARS with ID badges. These will need to come and go from home to school with your STAR student. They use them for lunch, library, and to scan in in the morning upon arrival. This week, our second grade students will switch schedules with the first grade students to make traveling back and forth to the pool easier on the master schedule. Our second grade students will swim at the Greensboro Aquatic Center this year and we are all so excited for this opportunity. If you are the parent of a first or second grade student, please check with your classroom teacher if you were planning on lunch this week.
Our third grade students will take the Beginning of Grade test in reading on Wednesday, September 11th. This test will start first thing in the morning and is a state test that gives our students a starting place that helps measure the year's growth. Please make sure that your STAR student is on time and has had a good night's sleep.
Attention all kindergarten parents. Please know that the final day to submit the NC health assessments and vaccination records is September 24th. If your child's records are not submitted by this date, we will have to have them stay home until the records have been submitted. Please make an appointment ASAP if you have not yet done so, we do not want any of our STARS to miss school.
This Thursday, our rescheduled PTA meeting will take place. It is virtual and the link will be in Class Dojo for anyone who wants to join. Please also take a minute to read the PTA newsletter which houses all of our information for the week. Click here for easy access. Also, this Thursday, we will have our first of the year Eureka Math visit. This is a chance for our school to be recognized for all of the hard work and planning our teachers put into educating our STAR students.
Arts Academy registration deadline was last Friday at 2:30pm. No more applications will be accepted as the Arts Academy drafts have begun and students have begun to be placed.
This Saturday, 9/14 our PTA will host our first Morehead Mingle where we will clean up parts of our campus and have Morehead STAR Fellowship with each other.
