NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 4 | 8 AUGUST 2024
Good afternoon parents and caregivers,
Last Saturday, the P&F held a very successful Quiz Night. It was a wonderful night of quizzing with some great prizes on offer ... the silent auction became very competitive! Well done to the winning team and thank you everyone who were able to attend and support the fundraising efforts of the P&F. Congratulations to the P&F team and thank you to those businesses who donated prizes.
Today we recognised the Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and our MacKillop House Day with a sea of green. St Mary MacKillop was the first Saint of Australia, and her influence in the country has spread far and wide. She is recognised for her commitment to the poor, helping those who needed it the most in any way she could and providing an education to all children. The Year Six MacKillop students led a wonderful reflective assembly honouring St Mary MacKillop, and all students participated in various activities with their buddy class. To honour St Mary Mackillop's love of education and helping the less fortunate, families were asked to donate pre-loved uniforms in good condition which will be donated to a school in the Philippines through the charity ClutterBugs. Again, the support from our school community was astounding with bags overflowing with donations. Thank you to the MacKillop House staff for organising a great day.
A reminder that next week is our Whole School Photos Day. Students need to be looking their absolute best, with a focus on personal presentation/appearance and also wearing the school uniform with pride. Please make sure you have ordered online using shoot key FN3T95K.
Finally, with the school growing and the beginning of our double stream journey beginning next year, I would like to welcome two new staff members to our school community. Please welcome Mrs Skye Sanders and Mrs Brooke Davison to our teaching team for 2025.
Have a wonderful weekend.
God bless

Survey from the Parish
The Australian Catholic Bishops Conference is undertaking a research project aimed at investigating why some Catholics do not participate in regular weekly Sunday Mass (Sunday Mass includes the Saturday Vigil). The project will provide in-depth information about contemporary religious practices and beliefs of Catholics in Australia. The insights would enable parishes, movements, and school communities to respond to the trends in participation in the Church, update the Church’s awareness and understanding of the present-day context, and enable responses and collaboration around the underlying factors for non/dis-engagement.
We would like to invite you to take part in this research. Please click on the link below (or copy and paste the link into your browser) to access information about the project, and to enter the survey itself.
The survey will run from Monday, 17 June 2024 and close on Tuesday, 20 August 2024. Thank you for considering this invitation to participate.
God Bless
Fr Peter

P & F News
A huge thank you to all parents and friends that attended our Quiz Night on Saturday August 3rd. It was a sell out event, with some very competitive teams.
As usual, this event would not have been so successful if it weren’t for our wonderful team. Thank you to all the people who volunteered their time sourcing prizes, setting up on the day, and helping things along on the evening. Your dedication and energy are greatly appreciated.
Thank you also to all members of the school community who donated or sponsored prizes for the raffle, silent auction, our quiz champions, and our game winners.
The event raised over $5000, which will be put towards our Nature Playground.
With the Sports Carnival coming up, we will have some coloured faction accessories on sale. We will also be asking for contributions to our cake stall. Please keep an eye on Seesaw and social media for further information.
The next P & F meeting is on Monday, August 19th. We welcome any new or returning family members to attend.
Containers for Change
This year the Year 6 students are raising money through the Containers for Change initiative to donate to LifeLink. If you and your family have spare cans or bottles that you would like to contribute to our school collection, please scan this barcode when you are returning your containers, every container counts!
