Dear KDM Community,
Students began their benchmark assessments with Acadiance Reading. Next week, they will begin iReady Math Diagnostic Assessments. Please know that these assessments guide our instruction and provide insight into student understandings. We appreciate you sending your child in each day well-rested and well-nourished so they can perform at their best! Below is the testing schedule:
Acadience Reading: January 6th - February 7th
iReady Math Diagnostic Assessments: January 13th - 17th
iReady ELA Diagnostic Assessments: January 21st - 24th
I am happy to report that 14 after school clubs are currently running, and they are all full. Stay tuned for updates on their future progress and/or performances, particularly the TREP$ Marketplace and the KDM Talent Show in March!
Looking forward, the Student Council and PTA are hosting a coat drive. From January 20th through January 31st, please bring in gently used coats to help out our neighbors in need! Keep a lookout for the flyer with further details next week. We're excited for this opportunity to serve our community.
KDM has talent, and it's time to show it! Any student interested in performing in this year's KDM Rodeo Show should email their ideas to vandermark8930@optonline.net. Find the details in the 2025 KDM Talent Show Flyer.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you,
Brian Rawlins
Principal

Building Our Community
"Miss Molloy's 3rd-5th grade P.E. classes have been working on their throwing and communication skills in the game "Battleship". Students worked together with their teams to throw a ball over the net to knock down a pin on their opponents battleship (mat). Each team was assigned a captain. The captain was the only player from the team that had the opportunity to look at their opponents' ships when the teacher yelled "Captain!". The job of the captain was to communicate with their team where their opponents' ships were located. The students learned to communicate using specific directions (back left corner of the gym, there are two pins left on the ship). Overall, the students LOVED this activity!" --Ms. Molloy
