NEWS FROM WERNER
Note from the Principal
I hope you all had a great week! A BIG "Thank You" goes to our PTA, Asst. Principal Culhane, Mrs. Russell, and 5th grade movie crew for their help with last week's outdoor movie night! We had a great turnout and appreciate your support.
As we head into the last week of September, I want to remind you that there is No School for students on Monday, Sept. 23. Staff will be engaged in professional development and work time. Also, our biggest community event of the year, the Werner Fall Festival, will be next Friday, Sept. 27 from 4:30-6:30. There will be lots to do and a great opportunity to connect with other families!
Last, we will be starting a new fundraiser on October 1. Our very first Read-a-Thon, will last the month of October and will be a great opportunity to help encourage our students to read more and raise money for our school. Look for more information, from our PTA, coming soon!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your time with family!
Best,
Hayden Camp
Principal

NEWS FROM PSD
A message celebrating success and 2024 CMAS, PSAT, SAT test results
Sept. 17, 2024
Dear PSD community:
I’m writing today to celebrate the recent release of 2024 state standardized testing results. Once again, PSD cemented its reputation as a high-achieving district by besting the state average not just by a small percentage but by double-digits in all grades and subject areas covered by CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success), PSAT, and SAT testing.
This achievement happens so often in our district, it may not have caught your attention. But it is truly amazing and worth celebrating year after year.
PSD is in the top five districts with 10,000 students or more for the percentage of third through eighth graders scoring at or above grade level on CMAS English Language Arts and math exams. We’re also in the top five for math and evidence-based reading and writing results on the PSAT exams for high school freshmen and sophomores and the SAT for juniors.
I’ve included our results below. Full results for Colorado districts and schools can be found on the CDE website: CMAS Assessments and PSAT and SAT Tests
Sincerely,
Brian Kingsley
PSD Superintendent
Volunteers are needed across Poudre School District to support our Teachers & Students!
PSD sends frequent emails to currently registered volunteers, but those are getting lost in some recipients' junk mail folders. If you are registered as a volunteer with PSD, please check your junk mail & mark those sent by "Volunteer Coordinator" as safe to receive.
For those who are not yet registered to volunteer but want to help in our schools please visit - Volunteer Registration
PSD Now Newsletter
One of many ways information is shared is through the PSD Now community newsletter, which features timely information about the latest happenings in the district. This is emailed to families and interested community members about every other Thursday.
