Eliseo Jimenez Invited to White House for Social Security Bill Signing!
We are proud to share an incredible achievement by one of our students, Eliseo Jimenez. Recently, Eliseo was invited to the White House to witness President Biden sign the Social Security Fairness Act. During the event, he received a heartfelt surprise as the entire room sang "Happy Birthday" to him in advance of his 18th birthday.
Eliseo’s journey to this moment is a testament to his dedication and compassion. Last summer, at just 17 years old, he walked over 1,600 miles from Lubbock, Texas, to Washington, D.C., to raise awareness about the challenges faced by senior citizens and individuals with disabilities due to inadequate Social Security benefits. His advocacy brought national recognition and led to this unforgettable opportunity.
Congratulations to Eliseo on this well-deserved achievement. Your efforts are making a real difference, and your Lubbock High community is proud to celebrate this accomplishment with you.
