a message from Ms Parker...
Welcome back!
It has been great to have everyone back!
Thank you to all staff who have supported the children's smooth return to school and transition.
The children have returned highly engaged in their learning and school activities. Many children now have leadership roles across the school and are involved in clubs, and there has been a significant increase in the number of children putting themselves forward for auditions and trials. We now have the largest junior choir ever, with 50 children and 10 additional children having put themselves up for band auditions. What a great way to start the year!
The annual calendar of events was issued this week. Please mark those dates in your diary. We may occasionally need to make changes; however, we will give you good notice.
As usual, secondary transfer arrangements for year 6 are all go! The deadline for your application is 31 October. We will be hosting a Secondary Transfer meeting on Thursday, September 26th, at 5 p.m. Year 5 families are also welcome.
For a smoother school experience, please remember to label all your child's belongings. This includes clothing, coats, bikes, and scooters. A clear label with the pupil's name and class greatly increases the chances of lost items being returned. This simple act also supports our year 6 'Lost Property Monitors' in their efforts to reunite found items with their owners.
Also, you can just rummage through our 'Lost Property' trolley in the front playground at the end of every day.
Our out-of-school clubs provision on Saturdays will return in November. Keep an eye out for Table Tennis, Boxing, Girls Football and Trampolining!
Keep safe, and I will see you at the gate at 8.55am.

Topics this term...
To learn more about the curriculum for your year group/s next term, visit the school's website to access the knowledge organisers.
Homework
Please help support your child with their spelling by looking at the spelling rules, sounds and patterns in each word. Practicing spellings daily (or as much as possible) will help your children to learn and remember each word. In KS1, children will need to choose five spelling words to put into sentences.
In KS2, children will need to write a sentence for each word, using neat, joined handwriting.
This will allow the children to understand the meaning of each word, put the word into context, and practice their handwriting.
All spelling books must be given to the Class Teacher every Wednesday. This will ensure that your teacher has enough time to get the new spellings stuck in. Children will be doing a weekly spelling test in the back of their homework books so you will be able to see how well they are doing.
Sports Update
Kicking off the year with Football Trials
This week, we held trials for the girls' and mixed football teams.
I am proud to share that 18 girls came along on Wednesday morning, and 32 children attended on Friday, of which 16% were girls.
We are encouraged by our girls' interest in football and look forward to nurturing the interests of all our children together.
We are looking for more talented musicians to join our band!
FAB Update
We are looking for a new Chair and Treasurer!
FAB stands for Friends Association Bonneville.
Many, many parents are involved in enabling fundraising for our school.
A donation of 1 hour per term (that’s only 3 hours per year), of your time, is all that we ask. Whether it be class rep, planning/hosting an event or standing on a stall. Some parents very generously agree to host an event like our amazing wreath making workshop, or the gathering of donations for our incredible raffles. We always need more help and support. Every parent is a member of FAB. I ask that everyone gets involved.

Raising a Concern
It is important to us that any concerns or questions you may have are dealt with as efficiently as possible. The structure we have in place is designed to do just that.
The structure
1) Your first port of call is -Your child’s class teacher
(email via the admin team to request a meeting)
2) You may contact the leader of your child’s phase (see below)
This includes issues regarding communication and organisation
(email via the admin team to request a meeting)
Should you be dissatisfied with the handling or outcome...
3) You may raise your concerns with Ms Parker
(email via the admin team to request a meeting outlining the nature for the purpose of the meeting)
Leaders are required to share items (as appropriate) with Ms Parker on a weekly basis, even if the matter is being handled by them.
We request that you do not field your concerns to FAB but instead work directly with the school staff as outlined above.
