Dear Cascade Community,

As the seasons change and the weather brings new challenges to our roads, it’s a great time to remind everyone about driving safety. Please take a moment to talk to your students about staying alert, keeping both hands on the wheel, and maintaining safe speeds, especially as roads can become slick and visibility can decrease with the changing weather.

Additionally, remind them to stay off their phones while driving. A few seconds of distraction can make all the difference in preventing accidents and ensuring their safety, as well as the safety of others.

Thank you for reinforcing this message at home, and let’s keep our students safe on the roads.

Important Update: Transportation Pickup and Drop-off Locations

The safety and well-being of MCCSC students are our top priority, and that includes ensuring that our transportation system runs as smoothly as possible.

We are reaching out to inform you of a necessary update to our transportation system. Recently, we implemented new software, TRANSFINDER, to better manage student transportation and improve efficiency. While we understand that you have already submitted your child’s pickup and drop-off locations earlier this year, we kindly request that you update this information again to align with the new system. The updated software requires accurate, up-to-date HOME, PICK-UP, and DROP-OFF address data to ensure that all routes are properly scheduled and that your child is picked up and dropped off safely and on time.

Here’s what we need from you:

• Please complete this Google Form and update your child’s transportation information by Friday, November 8.
  
• You will need to fill out a new form for each of your children to ensure the correct information is updated correctly
• Ensure that all pickup and drop-off addresses are correct and up-to-date. ESPECIALLY if they are different from your home address!
  
• Contact Rachel Johnson in our transportation office at 317/539-9241, Amber Phillips, PowerSchool Administrator at 317/539-9222, or your building secretaries if you need assistance or have any concerns.
  

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make these improvements. The new system will ultimately provide better service for you and your children, ensuring that their transportation experience is as safe and efficient as possible.

Class of 2025

Filing the FAFSA is a requirement by Indiana Department of Education for every senior. Families may instead complete an opt out form, if they do not wish to file FAFSA. Parents watch your emails for more information.

FAFSA opens December 1, 2024 and will use 2023 taxes. In November both parent and student should apply for their FSA ID at fafsa.gov.

College Visits/Trade Schools/Job Shadows

• You're permitted up to 2 visits per year. Try to schedule them during our breaks, too.

To get your visit excused:

1. Submit the college/career Visit form at least 3 school days prior to your scheduled visit.
2. Return the signed form from the college/career.
3. These visits will not affect your attendance record.
