Good morning,

It’s hard to believe that we’re already entering the final month of the school year! As we reflect on the year so far, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our families and school community for your continued support. A special shout-out goes to everyone who helped make our Grade 9 School Leaving Carnival such a memorable even. It was a fantastic evening filled with laughter, celebration, and lasting memories for our students.

As we look ahead to the last few weeks of school, there are many exciting activities planned to help close out the year on a high note. Alongside these celebrations, students will be wrapping up assessments and preparing for final evaluations. We encourage students and families to reach out to their teachers or the school with any questions as we look to finish the year Phoenix strong!

Another big thank you to our school community for their support during our recent fundraiser. With your help, our school raised over $7000.00 which will go toward development of our outdoor spaces.

During the 2025-2026 school year, our current grade 6 students will be provided the opportunity to receive a department issued chromebook for use for the remainder of their schooling. Information regarding chromebooks has been included below. Fillable forms are available through our RYCOR system. Families are asked to carefully review the contract and complete forms through RYCOR by Thursday, June 19th. Forms completed following the deadline will result in delays for students receiving chrombooks in the fall.

Chartwells will now be offering a pay-what-you-can model for our school. Orders can be placed through the Nutrislice App or online at chartwellsk12.ca. This program along with menu options will be replacing our existing Chartwells program.

For the next cycle (June 9 – June 20) ordering started on Friday, May 23 and will close on Thursday, June 5 (12:00pm).

Families are advised that our final professional learning day for teachers will take place on Friday, June 20th. There will be no school for students on this day.

Congratulations once again goes out to our Grade 9 students who enjoyed a fabulous school leaving carnival last week. A big thank you goes out to our parent volunteers for providing of their time and donations for this event. Also thank you to all of our community sponsors for their help in making this event so successful and memorable for our students.

Final exams will take place for our grades 7-9 students between Friday, June 13th - Thursday, June 19th.

June is Pride month and our GSA has been busy planning our 4th annual Phoenix Pride Day which will take place on Monday, June 2nd. A special thanks to the members of our GSA for planning and arranging all the events for Pride Day.

Locker clean out and locker collection will occur prior to the end of the school year. Students will be asked to return school issued locks to their homeroom teacher. Students who do not return locks are subject to a $10.00 locker replacement fee.

A reminder that we offer after school study hall sessions for students in Grades 7-9 on Tuesday afternoons from 2:45-3:45 pm. Study Hall is a quiet space for individual study and review with an opportunity to ask a teacher questions. Students are asked to bring their school work and supplies with them. With final exams around the corner we will be offering extra study hall sessions for students who wish to review for exams or catch up on work in other subjects. Extra help is available for the following subjects:
