TCS Hosts Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Bill Roberts Softball Stadium
Today marks a milestone for girls’ softball with the groundbreaking of the Bill Roberts Softball Stadium! Mayor Choat warmly welcomed players, family members, coaches, and distinguished guests. Representative Danny Garrett, joined by Senator Shay Shelnutt and County Commissioner Joe Knight, shared exciting news about their successful efforts in securing over half the funding needed for this project through supplemental appropriations. Their dedication ensures our athletes have a top-notch facility. Dr. Martin and Taylor Burt paid tribute to both the relentless spirit of our girls' softball team and the enduring legacy of Bill Roberts, former Board Member, for whom the stadium is named. Mr. Roberts shared heartfelt words about his pride in the team's achievements and the community’s efforts in turning this vision into a reality. This project not only celebrates our past successes, but also lays the groundwork for future victories. Go Huskies!
HTMS Band Performs for Elementary Students

Special thanks to Brandon Peters, Director of Bands (HTMS); Corinth Lewis, Associate Director of Bands (HTMS); AJ Adair, Associate Director of Bands and Director of Percussion (HTHS); and Shannon Moore, Associate Director of Bands (HTHS and HTMS) for being wonderful role models and leaders in Trussville's exemplary music program.
Cahaba Mentors Parent Showcase
Cahaba 4th and 5th grade students are able to choose which Enrich class to participate in each year, and we had 40 students choose Cahaba Mentors. These students partnered with a teacher in Kindergarten or 1st grade, and they worked for a 9 week period to help the younger students twice a week on various activities such as phonics, reading, math skills, letter naming, and so much more.
For the end of the year presentation, parents came to see a “mentor” showcase. The students shared one thing they had learned about being a mentor and one thing they liked about it, and then they “mentored” an adult. Each student chose an activity they had used at some point during the year with their “mentee” and demonstrated it to their parents. It was a great time of fun and sharing. Each student was able to show off their leadership skills, and we are so proud to have these students be a part of the mentoring program.
Magnolia's End of the Year Luau Celebrations
Coordinated by Cindy Burns, First Grade Teacher, Magnolia students recently participated in luau parties to celebrate the end of a successful school year. Special thanks to the many parent volunteers for giving of their time and to the Burns family for their hard work in planning and setting up the luau’s festive and entertaining activities. Much fun was had by all, as students participated in the following stations: surfboard art drawing and coloring, hula dancing, ring tossing, tacky tourist relay racing, beach ball volleyball, ukulele playing, bowling, limbo, and photo booth picture taking.

Honorary Benches Built by HTHS Engineering Students
The HTHS Engineering Academy was privileged to take on a very meaningful project to construct four wooden benches. Two of the benches were built for the HTMS PTSO in honor of the Meads Miracles Foundation, and they will be located at HTMS. The other two benches were built to honor the retirement of Carrie Jones and her years of service at HTHS and Independence Place, and they will be located at Independence Place.
HTMS Beginning Choir Has Competition Success
The HTMS Beginning Choir competed in the Music in the Parks festival at Six Flags against schools from five states and won first place in their class and the overall award for best junior high/middle school choir. They earned superior ratings and were awarded the highest scores out of all middle school choirs, bands, and orchestras present.
Cahaba First Graders Publish Class Books
Mrs. Latham, Mrs. Harrison, and Mrs. McDonald’s 1st Grade students all wrote class books and had them published! Each student wrote & illustrated a page in their class book about their favorite first grade memory from this year. They brainstormed as a class about fun things they did throughout the year and then students picked their favorite memory. They followed the writing process and used a narrative writing graphic organizer to help organize their sentences. They wrote an opening sentence, used transitional words such as first, next, and last and ended their writing with a closing sentence. They wrote rough drafts, edited their sentences, and wrote their final drafts using a pen! Students had the chance to purchase the book to have as a forever keepsake. When the books were published, each class had a Book Publishing Celebration where they each got to read their page our of their book to their class. They had a special snack to celebrate becoming authors! Each class was so proud of their published book.
Magnolia's Talent Show
Magnolia recently held its first annual talent shows, under the direction of Music Teacher, Danny Moore, and Principal, Dr. Phyllis Faust. Filetti, Angie Seeley, Erin Piper, and Kaitlyn McDaniel; scorekeepers, Anna Walker, Sarah Brandler, and Emily Durham; and to special helpers, the Magnolia Student Leadership Team members.
