2025 in Panther Country
January 2025 Newsletter
Welcome back, Panthers!
Greetings, Panther familiies! I hope everyone has had a chance for fun and relaxation over the holiday, and while I am bummed that we didn't have a white Christmas, I am always hopeful for snow later this winter!
As we return in January, there will be three short weeks left in the first semester. We want all students to succeed, and that starts with being in classes, on time, every day. Teachers are here to help students with classwork, and we offer free tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school (with transportation provided!). To start the new year, we will have Advisory all week to revisit the expectations for success here at White Pass. Remember that we are asking ALL students to stow their phones during class time in the phone caddies in each room; these are available in case of emergency but are not distracting students from learning during classes. We also will be working with students on study skills, organization and time management as we finish out the semester this month.
Thank you for sending us such great kids, and I can't wait to have the halls full of kids again!

Athletics and Activities
Halfway through Basketball Season
Updated sports schedules available on our website. Many of our home games are broadcast on NFHS.
High school boys and girls basketball are midway through their season and junior high boys basketball start their games next week. It's wonderful to see so many Panthers participating in athletics this season and we look forward to even more for spring sports!
Class of 2025: Senior Information
Senior Project has changed! This important part of the senior year will still include components to get students ready for life after high school (resume, interview skills, a presentation). All seniors are enrolled in "Senior Seminar", a new class designed to give students the time and support needed to complete the Senior Project, but also to meet the new state graduation requirement about Financial Literacy and "adulting" skills.
Look for the Senior Calendar of Events later this month ; this will have all the important events for the final semester of your high school career.
Mrs Foley is a fabulous resource for all things for life after high school. Not sure what your plan is? She can help you discover interests and how those tie into post-secondary plans and careers. Stop by the Career Center for help with applications, resumes, scholarships and more!
June 4: Seniors Last Day
June 6, MANDATORY graduation practice
June 7, Graduation!
Resources
Mrs Foley in the GEARUP office has a supply of clothing, shoes and personal hygiene items. This is free and confidential; your student can stop by to see her or the office staff if anything is needed. All of our teachers have access to school supplies as well.
