Charleston Wrap
A big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our Charleston Wrap ASB fundraiser! We are very appreciative of the support and raised $1782. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You may continue to support our fundraiser online until the end of the season by using your participant link or the shopping link. (https://registercw.com/gateway?organizationMidasId=24500)
LEGO Robotics
Mrs. Keck is trying to update the robotics equipment at MEA with a DonorsChoose. Two LEGO Spike units have already be generously donated by MEA families, and we are looking to add an additional 3 sets to our tech classrooms. LEGO Spike robotics offer the creative and design aspects that are synonymous with the LEGO brand, while also offering the ability to incorporate multiple coding languages, allow them to grow with our students as they learn.
If you are able to donate or share please visit: Building Brighter Futures
*** Please note that when donating they do include optional 15% donation to support DonorsChoose. You may select edit at checkout to ensure the full amount goes towards MEA.
Yearbook Cover Contest
Students in Grades 6-12 are invited to enter their art in our yearbook cover contest. The winner will receive a free yearbook and their artwork will be displayed on the front cover! Even if your entry is not used on the cover, it may still be used in other places throughout the book.
You may submit a design that is for the front cover only or a wrap-around spread for both the front and back. Keep in mind that there is a spine roughly half an inch wide that will cut through the middle of a wrap-around design. All entries must be in digital format.
Yearbook Theme:
This year’s book doesn’t have a specific “tag line,” but the cover art should reflect the uniqueness of this school, which is unlike any other.
Tips for a Good Entry:
All entries must include Mt. Everest Academy and the school year 2024-25.
Use lots of color, including the background. Don’t leave much white space.
Do not add text too close to the edges of the page. Leave 1 inch of space around the outside edges with no text, just color/design. This will avoid print issues when the art is applied to the cover.
Submit Your Digital Art:
See this link for the specific dimensions for creating your artwork in programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator or others: size, dimensions and resolutions
Use the specs and templates for an 8 ½ x 11 Hardcover book with 92 pages (Photoshop and inDesign templates available)
Email your file to rfinney@sandi.net
All Entries Due By: January 31, 2025 (end of Month 6)
2024-2025 Yearbook

STEM Club
Are you a 6-12th grader interested in STEM? Members of the MEA STEM Club will focus on organizing a science fair, along with possibly pursuing other project ideas including a student science journal, hosting events to spark curiosity in science (Kahoots, guest speakers...), and expanding their own knowledge of STEM subjects. We aim to foster a community of like-minded individuals learning more about the world of science!
This will be an amazing opportunity to learn more about various STEM areas, engage in hands-on activities, lead events, and showcase your knowledge in STEM. As this is a new club, you will have ample opportunity to give your input about our priorities. I hope you join us for a thrilling journey of learning and sharing the possibilities of STEM!
If all this sounds exciting, please join us for our information session on Tuesday, October 8th, from 2-2:30 pm in Room 17B (Mr. Huy's Classroom)! Also, please fill out this interest form (link: https://forms.gle/JDRBDBaKMtyg8c5q7). Thank you!
Please reach out to Malia at maliawilke@gmail.com with any questions!
