Mission
The mission of George Bannerman Dealey is to provide an exemplary education that develops and empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society.
Embrace It!
Greetings Dealey Community!
“Change is what makes life exciting, daring, different, inspired. Stop fighting it. Embrace it!” –Connie Podesta
Last week, we had a busy week on campus! Thank you to everyone that contributed to our community events last week. Our Coffee with the Principal and SBDM public meeting were informative and great collaborative events. As the weather cools off, we are also enjoying beautiful changes on campus. We have fully staffed our teaching staff and have experienced changes. We are also very lucky to still have committed parents, staff and community members to continue our upward success here at Dealey.
The latest change we are implementing on campus is improving teacher-parent communications.
We would like to create an environment conducive to healthy parent teacher communications that nurture student success. We are all fully invested in our students and will now work very closely and cooperatively to support them.
Parent-Teacher Communication Protocol
Moving forward, all parents and teachers will be following a campus communication protocol that encourages strong parent-teacher collaboration and respect.
1.When there is a classroom concern with a student , all parents will email their student's teacher first.
2.Teachers will resolve the concern by email or schedule a meeting with the parent.
3. Teachers will then complete a Dealey Parent Concern form (paper or Google form) to record the email/meeting and their efforts to resolve the parent's classroom concerns.
3. If a parent has given the teacher an opportunity to solve the problem and it was unsuccessful, the parent will then forward their classroom concern to Principal Garrett by email.
4.Principal Garrett will review the parent concern email and request the Dealey Parent Concern form from the teacher. The teacher will then be required to have the Dealey Parent Concern form completed and forward it to Principal Garrett.
5. Parents that do not have a Dealey Parent Concern form on file, will need to email the teacher to communicate their concerns with the teacher and allow the teacher to resolve the concern first before Principal Garrett conducts the parent meeting.
We appreciate our entire community upholding this new parent teacher communication protocol.
We are elated to see the professional and quick resolutions to concerns on our campus.
