St. Lorenzo Ruiz SAC will be hosting a raffle in the gathering area during the recess/lunch break on Wednesday March 27. They are looking for donations of home baked items to raffle off to students. Tickets will be $1. They will also be raffling off a tech package which will include a brand new 64GB Ipad donated by Red Deer Best Buy and a Belkin Face Tracking Mount and Belkin Wireless Charger Pad donated by Staples! Tech package tickets will be $5. All funds from this raffle fundraiser will go towards this years field trips. For more information, please see their poster.

As many of you are probably aware, Mabel the moose has been frequenting the Kentwood area. She is being spotted around the neighbourhood by locals. We would like to assure our school community that we are aware of her presence in the area and have protocols in place should she be spotted on school property. If your children walk to school, please make sure they are aware of Mabel and that they know what to do should they encounter her on their walk to and from school.

In our spiritual wellness lessons, we excited to start a fundraising project in Lent with our students at SLR. Our grade 6's and 7’s mission is to FEED THE HUNGRY and Collect for the foodbank!! Our goal is to collect one item per student per week.

Below are the suggested items to send in throughout the project and the Lenten season. We will organize them by item and send them off to the Mustard Seed in April!

We are so excited to be able to go ahead with this ski trip and offer those who registered an exciting day in the mountains with their friends and classmates. The bus will leave St. Lorenzo Ruiz at 5:45 am so please be at the school no later than 5:30 am. Students will need to bring a bag lunch or money to buy food from the cafeteria. There will be a stop on the way home for students to purchase supper. Parents will need to be at the school by 7:30 pm for pickup. Stay tuned for pictures!

The information in this form must be updated and current. Please pay close attention to medical and legal alerts as these are often out of date and need to be current. The form can be found by logging into PowerSchool on your browser (not available on the app) and clicking on SchoolEngage at the bottom of the menu on the left hand side. Please take a few minutes to complete this form and submit. CHANGES MUST BE SAVED FOR EACH PAGE BEFORE CLICKING NEXT.

We are very excited to announce, Tolulola Taiwo has accepted the position of School Council Secretary. We are still looking to fill the position of School Council Faith Lead. Do you or someone you know have old t-shirts to donate? Our shop CTF class is in need of rags for stain applicaiton and old t-shirts work perfectly! If you have some to donate, please send them with your child to the office and we will make sure Mr. Visser gets them. Thank you!

We would like to remind our families to please use our North parking lot when parking and exiting vehicles. This is especially important on game nights when we have an abundance of visitors parking near the school. In an effort to show kindness to our community, we are asking our school community to please be considerate of our neighbours across the street and leave that parking for residents only.

A space to share the student experience through grade 8/9 CTF videos and podcasts. This week we highlight our E-Sports CTF!

We provide grants to help cover the costs of registration fees so that all kids aged 18 and under in Red Deer can play a season of sport.

Our chapter accepts applications and administers grants of up to $250 per child/year, for kids who live in Red Deer or one of the other communities we serve. If you live outside of Red Deer, please contact the Provincial Office to find your nearest chapter or go get support through the Provincial Fund.

If your child still has skating equipment in the gym storage room, please make arrangements to pick up next week as everything is being packed up and stored away until next year.

Our basketball season has come to an end. We had a very successful first season and even came home with a few medals! Our Sr. Girls took 3rd place at CWAJHAAS and our Jr. 2 Boys finished 3rd in their league as well! We are so proud of all our Golden Eagles and look forward to next season!

Next up is Badminton! Tryouts start this coming week so please see the SLR Sports Calendar for dates and times.

We have not received many payments for volleyball and basketball fees. The fees associated to our sports teams cover ONLY the cost to play including, transportation, facility rentals, ref costs and tournament fees. Without payment of these fees, we do not have the funds to pay the fees.

For anything sports related, please see our SLR Sports Calendar for the most current dates and times. This calendar is updated regularily and is the best way to stay on top of everything SLR sports. If there is ever a change in the schedule, this is where you will find it.
