Dear Robert Hunter Families,
We had an amazing time celebrating Great Kindness Week at school! Our students created kindness rocks, participated in fun spirit days, and enjoyed a special whole school meeting led by Ms. Cross, Ms. Terhune, and Ms. Hadzimichalis's classes. To top it all off, we had a whole school snowball fight to show just how much kindness we have—after all, we have SNOW much to share! It was a week full of positivity, fun, and teamwork, and we are so proud of the kindness our students continue to show every day.
Thank you for your continued support!
Warm regards,
Jessica Braynor and Lindsay Shirvanian

Global School Play Day - Feb. 5
We are excited to be participating in Global School Play Day at Robert Hunter on Feb. 5th! Global School Play Day is a day dedicated to reminding students of the importance of unstructured play. Play for students this age is fundamental, as it provides social learning, fosters creativity, and allows kids to just be kids.
We will devote at least one hour of our school day to unstructured play.
Please select one item/toy for your child to bring to school. Toys should not require batteries, electricity, or have a screen.
Please discuss with your child that they are responsible for their toys being transported to school, and to be brought home with them at the end of the day
Toy ideas for your child to bring to the classroom:
Board Game
Blanket
Dolls/Stuffed animals
Legos/blocks
Puzzles
Cars, trucks, racetracks
Empty Cardboard boxes
Art supplies
We are looking forward to a great day of exploration and imagination!!

Counselor Corner- Mindfulness Challenge
As we move through the school year, we know that it can sometimes feel overwhelming, both for students and for families. One powerful tool that we can all use to help manage stress and encourage emotional well-being is mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of being present in the moment, paying attention to thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations without judgment. It can help children and adults become more aware of their emotions, reduce anxiety, and improve focus. Incorporating mindfulness into your family's routine doesn't have to be complicated; it can be as simple as taking a few moments to slow down and focus on the present. By doing so, we can help our children build resilience, emotional awareness, and coping skills that will serve them for years to come.
Throughout the week of February 3-7, our students and staff will be honoring National School Counseling Week by challenging themselves to take a few moments each day to practice mindfulness. See the challenge here. Encourage your children to share these mindful moments at home with your family!
Lost and Found
All items in Lost and Found will be donated on Tuesday. Please have your child stop by the table if he or she has lost something.
Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day parties are held in PreK-2 classrooms, and Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged in all grade levels. Your child’s teacher will provide any information needed.
If you have any Valentine’s Day card packages that you would like to donate to families in need, please drop them off in the main office. Thank you!
