The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness is a 2024 best-selling book by Jonathan Haidt, which argues that the rise of smartphones and overprotective parenting have led to a "rewiring" of childhood and a rise in mental illness. We still have some books available for interested families to check out! Please contact the front office if you are interested. Having the read the whole book is not required to participate.

We always like to introduce families to the new faces we have at school!

Mrs. Leslee Klapka is our new special education teacher. She is a graduate of Carroll University. Prior to joining us, Mrs. Klapka worked as a middle school special education teacher at Lake Country. Leslee and her husband have a 10-year-old Brittany spaniel named Boone. In her free time she enjoys spending time outside with family and friends, playing pickleball and reading. Mrs. Klapka shares that winter is her favorite time of year as she enjoys snowmobiling and the beauty that snow brings!

Mr. Sam Dewar is our first youth apprentice from Hartford Union High School. Education is a career Sam is considering, so he is using some time in his senior year schedule to learn a bit about working with students of all ages. As an alumni, Sam knows his way around Erin School, You will most likely see Mr. Dewar on the playground during lunch hours. Recently, has been working with and learning from Mr. Mueller in the gym. In the near future he will start working with teachers and small groups of students during academic times. Sam plays volleyball and basketball for HUHS and also loves many other sports!

As part of our Fitness Friday event, the American Taekwondo Center has a special offer for Erin School Students! TWO weeks of classes for $25, with all profits donated to Erin School.

Join Christ Lutheran Church as they host Family Lego Night on Friday, October 11th at Erin School from 6-7:15pm .

Legos will be available for all ages. A light supper will also be offered.

Your child/children are invited to participate in a free after school Bible group, called Good News Club! It is for grades 4K-5th. Please see this flyer for more details.

The first meeting will be Wednesday, October 16th from 3:15-4:30pm in the Art Room. Please print out the attached form and send it along with your child or you can use the on-line version. Please call Mary Uecker if you have questions at 262-627-0476.

It's time to sign up for the Erin School 5K or 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk at Erin Hills!

Saturday, October 26th at 9am for Registration, 10am Walk/Run

Come out and enjoy a 5K or one mile fun run/walk at Erin Hills Golf Course. Embrace the natural beauty of this world-famous golf course, as you travel over the hills of the scenic Kettle Moraine! Come join the fun - everyone is welcome (sorry, no animals allowed).
