Some thoughts for the starting school year

Hi Everyone,

We hope you have had a nice week. Our juniors took the PSATs this morning and everyone did a great job. Thank you to all of our proctors for helping to make the test-taking experience as smooth as possible.

Just a reminder there is no school tomorrow for students as it is a district-wide Professional Development day. We are looking forward to using this day to work with the i-Ready assessment data to help us inform classroom instruction to best support students. There is also no school on Monday for Indigenous Peoples' Day, so we will see everyone back on Tuesday, October 15 (blue day).

York High School is proud to announce our annual Veterans Day event, a tradition that brings our staff and students together to show appreciation and gratitude to the brave men and women who have served our country. On the morning of Friday, November 8th, we will be hosting a school-wide assembly followed by a special breakfast for the veterans who join us.

To make this event even more meaningful, we will be creating a slideshow featuring photos of the veterans in our lives. We kindly request your assistance in making this a success by sending pictures of your veterans to gcaraballo@yorkschools.org. With your help, we can create a memorable tribute to the heroes who have dedicated their lives to serving our nation.

Thank you in advance for your support and participation in honoring our veterans the way they truly deserve.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Fall Parent Teacher Conferences are right around the corner. You will have the opportunity to schedule times with teachers that you would like to speak with. Conferences are in-person on Thursday, October 17 and Thursday, October 24. If you would prefer a virtual conference time please reach out to the classroom teacher directly. The sign-up link and directions will be emailed to you tomorrow afternoon.
