PCK Weekly Newsletter

For this week's spotlight PCK wanted to acknowledge the efforts of the Cross Country team through the start of their young season. This past weekend, the team competed at the Slavens Invitational, a highly competitive event with an estimated 1,800 runners from across the Denver area. Athletes faced a challenging 3k course that included water terrain crossings. They rose to the occasion with remarkable performances, with multiple runners finishing with sub-14-minute times.
Prior to the Slavens Invitational, the season began at the Cimarron Invitational, where the boys varsity team made a strong statement. The top five runners placed 4th, 8th, 12th, 15th, and 18th out of approximately 70 runners—a fantastic achievement in such a competitive field. Girls varsity also shone brightly, with the top runner finishing 6th overall.
These accomplishments are a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and competitive edge these athletes bring to each practice and meet. Their dedication reflects the core values of Parker Core Knowledge, and we are incredibly proud of how they represent our school community both on and off the course.
Over the past week, we've received several questions regarding our spirit store and how to access it. We are pleased to share that we have made some updates to make it easier for you to find and shop for all your Parker Core Knowledge gear.
We have updated our website to include the spirit store under the "Webstore" tab on the main page. There, you'll find a wide selection of PCK apparel and accessories that are perfect for showing your school pride on spirit days and at school events. Whether you're looking for a cozy hoodie, a stylish t-shirt, or other PCK-branded items, our spirit store has something for everyone.
Please note that prices and sizes vary, so there's plenty of options to suit your needs. We hope this update will make it more convenient for you to support our school and proudly display your Parker Core Knowledge spirit.
Additionally, parents should take note that these items in the Spirit Store are not dress code compliant for regular school days, and may only be worn during school hours during spirit or dress down days.
Hello PCK Families!
I wanted to let everyone know about an event being hosted by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Cops and Bobbers. Kids 6-15 years old will have the opportunity to fish with deputies and park rangers to either learn or improve their fishing skills. Check out the flier for pre-registration, cost is $15 per kiddo for Douglas County residents and $18 for non-residents.
Thank you,
Deputy Sandifer
We want to remind you that the District will conduct a test of their new emergency messaging system next week on Thursday, September 19. This will be the first test since the District transitioned to a new communications provider, so it’s important to be prepared.
The test will involve messages sent through the District’s emergency messaging phone number: 855-269-0502. To ensure that you receive these messages without any issues, we encourage you to add this number to your contacts.
Please note that this emergency messaging system test is being run by the District and is separate from Parker Core Knowledge; it is not managed by our school staff.
As we continue to foster a positive and respectful learning environment at Parker Core Knowledge, we want to remind you of the importance of adhering to our school dress code. Recently, we have observed several instances of students not following dress code, specifically with the following:
Never Allowed
Ripped clothing on dress-down days (jeans, shorts, shirts)
Earrings (Dangly, Hoops, multiple per ear)
Untucked shirts
To maintain consistency and uphold our school standards, PCK administrators will be enforcing these dress code rules more closely. Beginning immediately, students will no longer receive warnings for dress code violations. Instead, students found in violation of the dress code will be sent directly to the front office and issued a dress code violation. An accumulation of three dress code violations will result in the loss of a Dress Down day. Continual violations will lead to further consequences.
We kindly ask that you take a moment to review the dress code with your child to ensure they understand the expectations and are dressed appropriately for school each day. Your cooperation and support in this matter are greatly appreciated as we work together to create a respectful and orderly school environment.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued partnership in supporting our school community.

We are pleased to share that our recent School Accountability Committee (SAC) meeting was highly productive! We set the foundation to begin working on important topics, including the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP), donation allocations, budget considerations, and student wellness initiatives. We are excited about the progress we are making and look forward to continuing our work in these areas.
If you have any questions about participating in SAC, or if you would like to contribute topics or questions to SAC but are unable to attend, please feel free to reach out to Blaise Singer at bsinger@ckcs.net.
Our next SAC meeting is scheduled for October 9 at 8:15 a.m. in the MS Commons. We welcome your participation and input as we strive to enhance our school community.
This week, our Volunteer Spotlight highlights Alison Rhein for her incredible support. Alison stepped in at the last minute to assist our math specialist with a take-home project, and her help made a big difference. We are so grateful for her willingness to go above and beyond for our school community. Thank you, Alison, for being such a valuable PCK volunteer.
