Algebra
Students have a practice test to work on tonight for homework.
To get us ready for the next chapter, I have given out a instructional review page over writing equations. This should be a review, but if students have skipped from regular 7th grade math to Algebra it is new material. Due to this, it is not a grade tomorrow, but we will be going over it and answering questions to get students better prepared for the upcoming chapter.
Our district emphasis this year is writing across the curriculum. I have given the students an article to read. They should mark the text, highlight the numbers, and answer the question on the back page. This is not due until Monday.

We also took notes over the first eight questions on our Common Monthly Assessment. This part will become academic when we take this again after Thanksgiving Break. Since our Common Monthly Assessments are done every month, there are no retakes for this grade.
Students should have the two monthly timed probes for August, September, and October in their assessment section of their notebook. They should be reviewing those for their two November Probes which will be given after Thanksgiving Break. We are looking for a two to four point increase each month on the Application probe (which is the stapled set) and a three to six point increase each month on the Computation probe (front and back). The Application probe is 10 minutes timed and the Computation probe is 8 minutes timed.
