Sinaloa Sabers Weekly Update 4/20
4/22 - NJHS Induction Ceremony 4/21, 4/22 - Flag FB v HMS
Good Evening Sinaloa Families,
The Sinaloa community wants to wish all of our families that celebrate Easter a Happy Easter Sunday.
This week our Flex period continues and will focus on testing strategies to prepare students for the California State tests. The more a student experiences these standardized tests the better prepared they will be for any computerized test in the future. Many governmental agencies use computerized tests like the permit test for your driver's license, the ASVAB test to join the military, the Civil Service Exam for government jobs and the SAT & ACT tests that are required to get into 4-year universities. We want to make sure the students feel comfortable during testing and that they know how to use the strategies and tools imbedded in the program, so they can do their best. Our Flag Football season starts this week at Hillside Middle School. Our girls will compete on Monday (4/21) and our boys will compete on Tuesday (4/22.) All games start at 3:30 on their PE field. We will also have our Spring Induction Ceremony for all NJHS students this Tuesday (4/22) at 6 PM in our gym. This is a very special event that celebrate our students' hard work.
Sinaloa students will be taking the CAASPP tests on April 29th and April 30th. This year we will have minimum days on these two testing days so the students can focus on the state tests and not worry about going to their classes afterwards. We will have incentives drawings for all of our students that participate in the CAASPP testing this year. Some of the prizes during the participation drawings will include gift cards, front of the line passes, and many other exciting items to encourage our students to do their best on these important school-wide tests. IF PARENTS WANT TO DISCUSS THEIR CHILDREN'S PARTICIPATION IN THE CAASPP TESTING PLEASE CONTACT YOUR CHILD'S AP TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT.
