The Brookland Softball team will be hosting their Bearcat Blast tournament at Southside Complex March 17-18. The tournament consists of 50 teams from Missouri, Tennessee, central AR and the area.
Brookland High School and JR High EAST Programs will be attending EAST Conference March 14-16 in Hot Springs. This event is for our team to display our EAST Projects that we have worked on throughout the year as well as interact with other EAST programs across the state! It is a huge event with over 200 schools attending with lots of awesome projects to discuss!
"Cooking Can Be Murder" will be presented by the Brookland Drama Dept. on Saturday, April 22nd at 7pm and Sunday, April 23rd at 2pm at the Brookland PAC. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door.
Counselor News
With spring around the corner, students need to start thinking about what courses they plan to take for the 23/24 school year. Students or parents can reach mclairday@bpsbearcats.com if they have questions about courses. You can also reach out to thibbard@bpsbearcats.com (rising 10th graders) or strotter@bpsbearcats.com (rising 11th and 12th graders).
All 10th graders will tour Northeast Arkansas Career and Technical Center (NEACTC) on March 15th. NEACTC offers the following programs:

11th-grade and 12th-grade students can take two college concurrent courses per semester for free. This is offered through the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (Concurrent Challenge). Time: 8-11pm, SENIOR MARCH 9:00pm

Theme: Moonlight Masquerade
Tickets can be purchased from Mrs. Reddell beginning MARCH 1st. Tickets will be handed out the week of prom and you MUST BE DEBT FREE at that time to get your tickets. You MUST have a ticket to enter prom. Mrs. Reddell will need the name of your date and if your date is from another school, you will need to fill the form out and return it to the office by April 12th. You will also need the t-shirt size of your date.

ALL BHS SENIORS--$10 per person March 1st-17th; $20 per person March 27th-April 6th; After April 6th, ALL TICKETS ARE $35 per person
All other prices--- March 1st-17th, $20 per person, $35 per couple; March 27th-April 6th, $25 per person, $45 per couple; After April 6th, ALL TICKETS ARE $35 per person
Last day to purchase tickets and receive a prom t-shirt will be April 6th!!!! ANY tickets purchased after April 6th will be $35 and will NOT receive a t-shirt.

The Boys Bowling Team placed 3rd at their Conference Tournament, qualifying them to complete as a team at State. The Girls Bowling Team placed 6th at the Conference Tournament. Brianna Joseph (2nd overall at Conference) and America Haughey (5th overall at Conference), qualified for State as individuals.
Brody Groves, Deacon Parnell, Brianna Joseph, and America Haughey made the All-Conference Team! Brianna Joseph and Brody Groves then went on to make the All-State Team at their State Tournament!
Brody was recognized for finishing 3rd in the state and qualified to participate in the first ever "Best of the Best" Overall State Bowling Tournament where he competed against the top bowlers from each division within our state.

The Brookland Band Department has earned the Sweepstakes award for the 7th straight attempt:

We are so proud of what the band accomplished this year!
The band still has one more big concert coming up on April 27, 2023 as our Seniors will round out their Brookland Band Careers with a public showcase of music at the Brookland Auditorium at 7:00pm. Hope to see you there!
