From the Springdale School District -

While all students are being provided free meals this school year, there are still benefits to qualifying each school year!

In addition to free meals available, what many students and parents do not know is:

Free and Reduced Status gives seniors admission fee waivers when they are applying to colleges.

NCAA fee waivers is a student is registering for eligibility status as a potential college athlete.

2 fee waivers for the ACT during their junior or senior years of high school.

Each school does receive funding if a percentage of the school is free & reduced qualify. Schools must spend that in a specific way that I've broken down below!

By state statute, our district is restricted in how we can spend ESA funds. Our district spends ESA funds on the following allowable expenditures:

--To have nurses in each building.

--To sustain 1:1 technology for students.

--To have school resource officers.

--To have instructional facilitators that help our teachers.

--To provide point in time remediation.

--To employ social workers.

--To employ EAST teachers across the district.

--On Pre-K. In order to receive our ABC grant for Pre K, we have to match some of the grant expenses. Pre K is an allowable expense of ESA dollars.

--On Alternative Learning Programs throughout our district
