Counselor's Corner:
Hi Parents/Guardians,
This month, I begin teaching Personal Safety lessons in your child's classroom. The overall message of safety lessons is to follow your family's safety rules - and if there is danger or your instinct is telling you that something is not safe, report it to an adult right away. These lessons encourage and empower students to follow safety rules, make healthy decisions, and remember that the adults in their lives are there to help and support them. A letter is being sent home with more information about the grade-specific safety lessons in your child's classroom, and you can find more information about these lessons on my counseling website; please reach out to me if you have any questions or if I can support your child in any way! It is an honor to partner with you in helping your child to learn and grow!
Mrs. Stichka
Attention 6th grade parents!
Is your child planning to enroll in a summer school class in preparation for 7th grade, such as P.E. or Earth Science? Registration for junior high online summer school begins March 3rd, and enrollment is done through your current school counselor (Mrs. Stichka). Please contact me if you would like me to send you the summer school application; it will need to be completed & returned to me so that I can sign and submit it for you. Send any questions my way about junior high or 7th grade summer school and I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks so much!

From Mrs. Dessert:
Dear Families,
Dallas Harris will be participating in Jump Rope For Heart starting February 18th during their PE classes!
Kids Heart Challenge starts soon, and we are proud to support the American Heart Association through this service-learning program. Students will learn how to have happy and healthy hearts and brains, while raising lifesaving donations to help others with special hearts. Plus, your family can learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR through Finn’s Mission! Sign Up TODAY at http://www2.heart.org/goto/DallasHarrisElementaryID or by downloading the FREE AHA Schools App for Apple or Android.
Meet heart survivor Finn and hear how completing Finn’s Mission gives hope to everyone, everywhere. Let’s save lives together! Thank you for being a Heart Hero!
Recess at Dallas Harris

Dallas Harris PTO
"PTO" stands for Parent Teacher Organization and this is our corner of the Yote Note to communicate with YOU! Below is a link to our website where you can read our meeting minutes, preview past and upcoming events, sign up to volunteer with us and more. Our main purpose is to work alongside school staff to provide enrichment opportunities to the Dallas Harris school community. The PTO works hard all year long to raise funds through both individual donations and special fundraising events so we can provide funding to teacher classrooms, library, art and music programs, help pay for field trips and field trip transportation, and support our amazing school staff when possible. Your donations qualify for the Idaho Education Tax Credit. GO YOTES!

Cell Phone Policy
Dallas Harris is asking that students do not have phones out on school grounds before, during or after school. Students are allowed to keep their cell phones in their backpacks during the day. If SMART watches interfere with learning or are used during the day for calls, they will need to be kept in backpacks as well. for your support on this issue.
