Check out some of our amazing student work!
Seventh grade students in Mrs. Tate’s English classes were asked to describe their favorite foods. What would you get if we went for Chinese food? What is your all-time favorite meal? The students love pizza, wings, cupcakes, steak, and more, and they described their favorites in detail.
If I was going to order from Wing Stop, I would choose hot honey barbeque wings, extra crispy, and fries with extra salt. I would also order a large Sprite with extra ice. The total of the whole meal is $37.53, all paid from my mother.
Nylah A.
My favorite place to get food is Texas Roadhouse. I always eat a bunch of their rolls with cinnamon butter. I also get a medium rare steak smothered with onions. As a side, I usually get a baked potato stuffed, and sometimes I get steak fries or the green beans. I usually go with my grandma, but we don’t go a lot.
Paul P.
Cane’s is my favorite. It is the best place on Earth other than Target. I get five chicken wings, bread, fries, Cane sauce, and a big Sprite. Anytime I go to Cane’s, I bring my mom or my sister. I have my own money, so I pay for myself. My favorite is either Cane’s or Mexican food. I’m not sharing any of my food whether I paid for it or not!
Payton L.
If we were going to get Mexican food, we would go to Chipotle, I would get a bowl with brown rice with double pastor chicken, cheese, and sour cream. I would share my chips and queso, but not all of it. I know I can make it all at home, but I choose to buy it. The reason I get the pastor chicken is because I loveeeeeeee spicy food.
Zoey W.
I don’t exactly have a favorite food, but one thing I love to eat is Chinese food. There is a place down the street from my house. It’s not very big, but don’t let that fool you. Their food is amazing. What I normally get is fried rice with carrot bits and shrimp with fried chicken. When I say this, I mean this: Their lemonade is the best lemonade I have ever had. It is sweet and amazing. I would honestly put it up for debate as the best lemonade to ever exist. So that is a place I really enjoy going to for food.
Ja’leel J.
If we were going to get some McDonald’s, I’d get a Big Mac with 10-piece chicken nuggets, a large fry and a small Sprite. I haven’t had McDonald’s in a long time, but when we do, we eat McDonald’s by the naval base. We do takeout.
William S.
More amazing work...
If I went to hibachi, I would get chicken with fried rice. I like that it has a bunch of vegetables and flavors. I love to put yum yum sauce and soy sauce on it. It enhances the flavors and it’s so cool to watch them make the food. I go with my sister, mom, and brother and they love the food as well. And don’t try to touch my rice!
Claire J.
If we were going to get Chinese food, I would get a shrimp egg roll. I like to take a bite and pour either soy sauce or hot sauce inside and continue to eat it. I like the crunch wrap of the egg roll.
Julia B.
My favorite food is banana bread. If you haven’t had some, I would recommend it. It’s fluffy and sweet and it’s made with milk and chocolate chips. You should try some. It is cheap to make and yummy. Do you want some?
Darren S.
Sweet and sour candy is one of my favorites. I also love turkey, cupcakes, and creamy ice cream!
Jeremiah H.
My favorite food is banana bread. My uncle makes it and it’s soooo good. I haven’t had it in a while, but it’s still good. It has banana in it and bread. I also like cheeseburgers with bacon and lettuce. It’s really good with fries. The reason I like banana bread is because my uncle used to make it for me when I was sad.
Kadis J.
If we were going to Wing Stop, I would get honey mustard wings. I would also get voodoo fries and Wing Stop ranch. I love the honey mustard wings because they are always crunch and every bite is fresh and juicy. I love voodoo fries because they are cheesy and are always crunch. I really like the ranch because it goes with everything, and I love how you can get different sizes of ranch. I also get a sweet tea that is sweet, but not too sweet.
Maleigha W.
My favorite entrée is a medium sized burger with brown gravy and a side of white rice and green beans. The burger is juicy and tender plus with brown gravy it’s even better. The rice is sticky and the rice with the brown gravy is the best meal in the world. When I eat it, my tastebuds go crazy and I get seconds all the time.
Kennedy R.
I love the cheesy marinara, thin crust, fresh handmade pizza from Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut close to our school has the best handmade pizza I’ve ever had. They make it right and it tastes perfect. It tastes so good I eat it like I haven’t eaten before. The cheese falls off after taking one bite.
Camari G.
If I were going to get Chipotle or Wing Stop, I would get either the burrito from Chipotle or the tenders from Wing Stop. I love both of these fast-food places. They both have delicious food. I love Chipotle’s burrito. It is stuffed with delicious meats and vegetables. Then I love Wing Stop’s tenders. The sauce is so good, and the wings are well-seasoned.
Natalee D.
I would go to the J&K. It’s a family restaurant. I would go with my dad. My entrée would be a spicy chicken sandwich with spicy sauce. My side would be a Philly cheesesteak egg roll. My drink would be their homemade watermelon lemonade. It is so good and not very expensive. The sandwich is juice, tender, and saucy. The egg rolls are flavorful and delicious with the homemade sauce. Sometimes I get fries, too.
De’Zyah B.
I love Mexican food, including tacos, nachos, and chips and salsa. I especially like churros. It’s a Mexican dessert spiced with cinnamon and fried. I also like the culture and the people.
De’Leah R.
