A Note from the Principal
Dear North Harford Middle School Parents,
I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your participation in our Open House and Back to School events. Your active involvement in your child's education is truly appreciated.
A dress code helps promote a sense of discipline, professionalism, and respect among students. However, it has come to my attention that an increasing number of students are not adhering to the dress code, and this is causing disruptions within the school community. I know the weather in Maryland can be tricky to predict but please remind your student to layer their clothing based on the season or forecast.
Enforcing a dress code can be challenging, but I believe that it is essential to maintain a positive and respectful school environment. Please know that if a student is found to be in violation of the HCPS student dress code they will have to correct it before returning to class. That may include calling home to bring in an alternative outfit. If you are not sure what the dress code please refer to page 11 of the Parent-Student Handbook Calendar.

Go Hawks!

We want to instill good habits while students are in the middle school that will transfer to success at the high school and beyond. So, all students and parents are asked to keep track of their school attendance and are reminded that a total of 17 days absence and greater for a school year is considered chronic absenteeism and could have negative effects on academics and eligibility.
Whether excused or unexcused, a total of 17 days absence and greater for a school year can/will affect the ability to have dual enrollment classes paid for and internship/apprenticeship opportunities.
Please note!
Bus Change Request: A Bus Change Request is for emergency purposes only and must be approved by the administration. Most of our buses are unable to accommodate additional students. Students should present the request in the morning. Requests are limited to a pass for only 1 additional rider and approval depends on seat availability.
Dismissal pick-up: If you are picking up a student from the school, please make sure you are picking up the student in the loading loop in front of the building. We do not want students unsafely crossing 165/Pikesville Rd and getting into a vehicle.

Our School Resource Officer and staff will ensure that the road is clear and safe for students to travel to the EMS Station.
Donated items will also be delivered to local fire departments and the Harford County Sheriffโs Office and Maryland State Police. Please see attached poster for suggested donations.
Donations are being accepted now through October 23rd and will be delivered on October 26th when students take their tour. (Donations to Harford County Sheriffโs Office and Maryland State Police will also be delivered that week.
