Nurse's Note 🩹
Nurse Esip’s Notes:
It is officially getting COLD out there! This is a good time to start sending students with a jacket for recess and outdoor PE classes. Also, it's a good time to swap out those extra sets of clothes in their cubby or backpack to include long pants.
When to Stay Home (Sick): If your child has a fever, diarrhea, vomiting please keep them home until they are illness free for 24 hours (without fever reducing medications). If you are unsure if your child should attend please feel free to email or call us.
Clothing Donations: We are always in need of joggers size 5t-10/12. If you want to pass anything along for us to use in the health office. Also your child can keep a spare outfit in their cubby in class as well.
Mandated Screenings: The yearly screenings for Vision and Hearing will begin soon. Students in 1st Grade will also have a BMI calculated (Height and Weight) per DPH Guidelines. If you would like to opt your child out of the BMI screening, please send that request in writing or email to: resip@bourneps.org. If you opt out of BMI screening we do need a current physical on file.
Please review the attached information regarding Fifth's Disease. We have seen an increase in cases at school in the last few weeks. Thank you.
Please review THIS information about whooping cough.

Physical Literacy - Move to Learn 👟
Physical Literacy–Move to Learn!!
Physical literacy is essential for elementary school students as it not only helps them develop fundamental motor skills like running, jumping, and throwing but also fosters a love for physical activity. Physical literacy enhances a child’s self-confidence and social interaction which helps to contribute to a well-rounded and confident individual. Physical literacy enhances students’ cognitive development, fostering improved concentration, problem-solving skills, and overall academic performance.
