The Cedar Hill High School Girls Basketball Team wrapped up the first half of District 6A-11 Competition with a 5-2 record.

They edged Dallas Skyline, 60-56, in overtime and lost to defending 6A Runner-Up, DeSoto, 74-53.

The Lady Longhorns (15-11, 5-2) will begin the second round of 6A-11 competition on Tuesday at Mansfield Legacy (10-16) and will host Mansfield Lake Ridge (14-11) on Friday. They defeated both teams last month by a total of 49 points.

The Cedar Hill High School Boys Basketball Team improved to 3-2 in District 6A-11 Competition with an 80-48 victory at Dallas Skyline and a 65-45 home victory over DeSoto, a team that reached the state semifinals last season.

The Longhorns (17-8, 3-2) will visit Mansfield Legacy (7-13) on Tuesday. The Broncos edged Cedar Hill in the regional quarterfinals last season.

Cedar Hill will then host 6A-11 leader Mansfield Lake Ridge (21-3) on Friday. Lake Ridge defeated Duncanville, 72-60, last month.

The Cedar Hill High School Girls Soccer Team (1-2-2) earned its first victory of the season, a 3-1 triumph over Fort Worth Northside in the Brewer Tournament last Thursday.

McKinlee Butler finished with a goal and an assist in the victory. Dulce Zapata scored her second goal of the season, and Deleila Chavez scored her first goal of the season. Kyndall Edwards also had an assist in the win.

Butler scored an unassisted goal in a 1-1 tie against Irving last Thursday.

On Saturday, freshman Zoe Stephens scored her first career goal, on an assist from Nadia Newsome in a 2-1 loss to Fort Worth Boswell.

The Lady Longhorns will visit Lancaster (0-3) on Tuesday and compete in the Duncanville Tournament, Thursday through Saturday.
