CES Summer Update 2

Dear Concord Family,

We hope you and your family are continuing to enjoy summer. As we near the start of school, we’re excited to announce that class lists will go live this Tuesday. Our placement process has been a detailed, months-long effort, where we’ve carefully considered numerous factors to ensure each student is placed in the best possible environment for their growth and success. Please know that we are confident in these placements and believe your child is positioned to thrive in the year ahead. For your convenience this Smore is organized with the following information:

For the 2024-2025 school year, Concord Elementary School, will be able to serve students a school breakfast at no charge.

This change is only applicable to the School Breakfast Program in the 2024-2025 school year and does not affect a student’s eligibility status for lunch (free, reduced, and paid, respectively)

• August 13 - Class Placement goes LIVE in Alma
  
• August 21 - Family Information Night @ 4-6 PM
• August 26 - 1st Day of School
• August 30 - No School for Students
• September 2 - Labor Day: Schools & Offices Closed

Class assignments will be available through Alma, our student information system, on Tuesday, August 13th. When class lists go live parents can access Alma via https://ces.getalma.com/home and it can also be accessed through the Parent Portal on any of the GVSD websites. Alma access information will be emailed to new families. Everyone else has the same access information as last year. Please call our office if you have trouble accessing Alma.

The Garnet Valley School District uses Infofinder for student transportation schedules. InfoFinder provides online access to assist in finding your child’s bus number, pick-up/drop-off locations, and times. Infofinder bus information will be turned on Thursday, August 15th by end of the day. Any questions please email transportation @ transoffice@garnetvalley.org

*During the beginning weeks of school, pick-up/drop-off times will be adjusted. We ask parents/guardians to check Infofinder periodically during the first weeks of school.

The 2024-2025 Before and After Care sign up is open now -- Before and Aftercare Form

My School Bucks is a secure online platform that allows parents to easily manage and monitor their child's school-related expenses. With My School Bucks, you can make online payments for school meals, view your child's account balance, and set up automatic payments for recurring expenses. Access or setup your MySchoolBucks account.

Students can be dropped off at 8:40 AM, yet will remain in the cafeteria until 8:55 AM when they are permitted to go to their classrooms. Drop-off doors will be open from 8:40 - 9:05 AM.

For pick up and drop off we ask that you follow the procedures on the map below. Any student being dropped off should follow the red arrows. Our buses follow the yellow arrows.

Drop off time 8:40-8:55.

Pickup time 3:30-3:45.

We are so excited to welcome our students and parents back into our buildings for our Open House event. Our Open House is designed to give students and parents an opportunity to see our building, meet their teachers, and experience their classroom!

Our Home and School Association (HSA) will be in attendance selling Spirit Wear. Also, Mrs. Sareyka, our school nurse, will be available to accept medical documentation and any medication needed to support your student during the school year.

Please update your child's SNAP Health Portal (directions below). This needs to be completed each year for your child's medical history as well as OTC medication administration permission.
