Dear Weymouth Public Schools' Community,
Today we welcomed our entire staff back to school for an official kick-off in the Maria Weston Chapman Middle School Auditorium, and the energy and excitement was nothing short of infectious. There was just one thing missing, our students, and we're elated to bring everyone back together to do what we do best as educators this school year.
This year, the focus is on engagement, equity, and empowerment to enhance teaching and learning, fostering community and transformational teaching for every student.
As a reminder, the first day of school for grades 1-12 is a half-day on Tuesday, September 5, and the first day for Kindergarten students is Thursday, September 7. Johnson Early Childhood Center will begin on Monday, September 11th.
During the first few weeks of school, buses may run late due to new routes and schedules. The Columbian Square Improvement Project is ongoing, affecting travel time. Check the Town of Weymouth website or Facebook page for schedule updates. We appreciate your patience as bus routes and schedules get worked out. For any issues or concerns with bus schedules, bus assignments, etc., please reach out to your building principal.
Additionally, you can expect to hear from your building principals weekly with any new and important information.
Lastly, please enjoy the welcome back video produced by the Wildcat Media Club in appreciation of our staff and in anticipation of their return to school this week. Thank you, Wildcat Media Club!
We are incredibly excited to welcome back our staff and grades 1-12 students to school on Tuesday (as well as our Kindergarten students on Thursday, and PreK students the following Monday) to kick off the 2023-2024 school year. Enjoy the long weekend!
Best Regards,
Robert Wargo
Superintendent
