Looking For Your Child's Orientation/Open House Schedule?
Orientation and Open House schedules for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year are now available. If you do not see the information listed on your child's school website, please visit www.spsk12.net, for locations, dates and times. Please note that it is crucial for all families to attend these events as your child's school teachers and administrative teams will be sharing important information for both parents and students. For questions regarding Orientation/Open House, please contact your child's school directly.
The Home Access Center Is ONLINE!
The Home Access Center and the Teacher Access center are now back online! You can view your child's schedule in HAC. If you are new to Suffolk Public Schools, your child’s school will create a Home Access Center (HAC) account during registration. It might take up to 72 hours to activate. Students can access the Student Access Center from the Student Portal.
- Easiest Way to Email Your Child’s Teachers: Once in your HAC account, clicking on the teacher’s name provides a hyperlink to start a direct-connect email. Some might need to right-click the hyperlink to copy the address, open their email service, and then paste it into a new email address.
- If you are having technical difficulties, your child’s school should be able to help you.
- If HAC has locked you out, the system will not allow access until the next day after its daily automatic refresh. After the next day, your child’s school can help you reset your password.
- If you need to connect more than one child to the same account, your child’s school can assist you.

Are You Interested In Volunteering For Suffolk Public Schools?
Every day, students and teachers across our school division benefit from the generosity of volunteers who take the time to share their talents with our students. To become a volunteer, you must create an application in the Raptor system. Click here for a link to the 2024-2025 Raptor Volunteer Application. If you completed the application last year, an application renewal or a new application will be required each school year.
Volunteers have the option of selecting the school they prefer to volunteer. They can select one location or multiple locations. Volunteers can also select the functions they wish to volunteer and select one or multiple functions. Once complete, the volunteer will receive an automatic notification to their email address, letting them know the application has been received. Once approved, the volunteer will receive a second automated email informing them that the application has been approved and that they are authorized to volunteer until June 30, 2025. In most cases, all applications are approved unless adverse information is disclosed in the background check.
When schools are in need of volunteers, they will reach out to you based on the preferences you selected and the functions / activities they have open for volunteer opportunities.
Volunteer Guidelines
Volunteers should sign in at the school's main office and receive a volunteer or visitor badge each time they visit a school. Volunteers work under the direction and supervision of school personnel and should know and follow school policies and rules. All volunteers will:
Report to the office to sign in and out.
Obtain and wear an identification badge provided by the school while volunteering.
Wear appropriate attire for service and working with students.
Follow the directions of school staff, recognizing that instructing, supervising, grading, and disciplining students is the responsibility of the school staff.
Work collaboratively with school staff to develop and choose appropriate activities aligned with your talents.
Communicate with designated staff members to obtain clear expectations and give feedback on volunteer activities.
For any questions related to volunteering in Suffolk Public Schools, or how to use the Raptor System, please visit or website (www.spsk12.net) or contact our Office of Communications and Community Engagement at 757-923-5244.
Don't Wait...Vaccinate! Is Your Child Ready For Back-To-School?
Children entering Kindergarten, 7th grade and 12th grade are required to be adequately immunized, and not receiving the proper vaccines as of August 26, 2024, can delay your child's enrollment and attendance with Suffolk Public Schools.
