February 2, 2025
A MESSAGE FROM BRIAN FORSHEE, CFHS PRINCIPAL
This past weekend was incredibly busy with a lot of CFHS events, showcasing the talent and dedication of our students and staff. We hope everyone had a fantastic time participating and supporting these activities!
As we move into this week, we will continue with Benchmark testing. Students, it is crucial to check the main hallway for your testing room assignments. Make sure you know where you need to report during 1st period to ensure a smooth testing process.
Starting tomorrow, our LCISD Campus Climate Survey will be open until February 28th. This survey is a valuable opportunity for you to share your thoughts and experiences. Please take a few minutes to fill it out and provide us with much-needed feedback on how we are doing as a campus. Your input is essential in helping us understand what we are doing well and what areas need improvement. We welcome any and all comments on what we need to keep and what needs to change at Fulshear High School.
Lastly, we want to wish the best of luck to all students who are competing this weekend. Your hard work and dedication are truly inspiring, and we are cheering you on every step of the way!
-Congratulations and good luck to all wrestling and swimming athletes who advanced and will be competing at Regionals this weekend (Feb 7-8).

Annual Campus Climate Survey Opens February 3 - 28
Dear Lamar CISD Parents/Guardians and staff,
We are seeking your feedback as part of our ongoing efforts to assess and enhance our campus environments by participating in the 2024-2025 Annual Campus Climate Survey.
Parents and guardians will receive a link to the survey in an email from K12 Insight. Families with more than one student may submit additional responses after the first survey is completed.
This survey is also an essential tool for gathering valuable feedback from our staff and students in grades 5-12. A link will be sent to all staff and will be accessible via ClassLink for students to complete during school hours.
The survey will be available from February 3 until February 28. Your feedback is confidential, and reports will not identify individuals.
After the survey closes, the report will be posted on the Lamar CISD website. If you have any questions, please send an email to Info@LCISD.org.

Charger Publications
Charger Publications is looking for new team members for our publications staff. Each year, we produce two student-created publications: Striker yearbook and Ultraviolet magazine. We need creative, talented students on our staff to help that tradition continue.
The Newspaper Association of America did a study which proved high school journalism students perform better on standardized tests, make higher GPAs and earn higher grades their first semester of college than their classmates. But, why should you consider joining our program?
- It's entirely project-based
- You learn everyday skills like writing, photography, communication, ethics, interviewing, fact gathering, graphic design and marketing
- It's a student-run program which gives you an opportunity to learn to lead a successful team
- You'll learn workplace and time-management skills like analytical thinking, peer collaboration, clear writing, and understanding of deadlines
- And, it's fun!
For more information, please see our flyer. Applications will be available in Room 1426 and in the front office beginning Wednesday, Feb. 5th. (For incoming freshmen, applications will be available on Leaman's campus in Ms. Bowe's classroom.)

DECA Achievement Level Chapter Campaign
Fulshear High School DECA recognized for Achievement Level Chapter Campaign
Fulshear DECA was recently awarded the Chapter Campaign for Community Service and Promotional efforts as well as the Membership Campaign for chapter growth for the 2024-2025 school year. The results were announced on decadirect.org.
Each fall, DECA recognizes leading chapters that have built strong local programs focused on serving an exceptional number of members, advisors, alumni and business partners. These chapters and individuals dedicate their year to academic and career preparation, community service projects, membership recruitment, school outreach activities and other DECA-related endeavors. The chapter’s advisor and student leaders have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to DECA.
DECA’s membership campaign is designed to help chapters grow by making the DECA experience available to more student members, keeping alumni involved and engaging professional members such as administrators, teachers, parents and business partners.
DECA’s promotional campaign provides chapter members an opportunity to share with their school and community what DECA is all about and how their chapter is making a positive impact on its members and community.
In DECA’s community service campaign, chapters held a community service activity, engaged at least 75% of its members, and created at least one form of publicity or promotion.
By earning these distinctions at THRIVE level, our DECA chapter will be eligible to take 4 members to Orlando in April to attend the DECA leadership conference.
“I am so proud of all our DECA members for their dedication, hard work, and positivity. They truly create more than a club; they create a family at Fulshear HS. They are respectful of one another and support each other, and I am blessed to be a part of the lives of these young students and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them.” -Heather Turicchi, Chapter Advisor
Of the 4,127 DECA chapters, only 1,000 chapters earned recognition in DECA’s chapter campaigns and only 1,214 chapters earned recognition in DECA’s membership campaign.
Fulshear High School DECA members advancing to state competition.
The following Fulshear HS DECA members competed in district competition on January 16, 2025 and will advance to state level competition in Dallas (March 6-8). Congratulations to them all, and best of luck at the next level of competition!
