Thank You!
Reading everyday for 20 minutes helps to improve listening skills, builds early literacy skills, improves academic performance, boost mental health, alleviate insomnia, and helps develop empathy. Research has shown that children who read 20 minutes a day are exposed to 1.8 million words in a year. This helps boost their overall vocabulary, language skills, and analytical skills. It is also a great way to incorporate during a bedtime routine.
Parents/guardians and grandparents benefit from reading for at least 20 minutes a day as well! Research has shown a 68% decrease in reducing stressing after just 6 minutes of reading. Not to mention it slows down mental decline in late stages of life.

Meet the Staff
Miss Lauren-Special Education Teacher
This year is my 29th year teaching at the ELC. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Special Education and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. I love forming meaningful relationships with the children, helping them to learn how to do things that are hard and allowing them to get very messy!! I love teaching as much today as I did on my first day. This summer I spent some precious time with my family at Yellowstone Park. I love all colors, but especially purple, working in my garden and reading.
Miss Linda -Paraprofessional
This is my seventh year with the ELC and my third with Miss Lauren. Not only do I work at the ELC, but all three of my children attended the program. I cannot think of a better place for children to learn and grow, and I am honored to be a part of it. Some of the things I love are the reading corner, the color purple and the Super Friends song.
Miss Christine-Paraprofessional
This is my second year at the ELC, but my 16th year with the Attleboro Public Schools! I enjoy interacting with our students every day, hearing their stories and helping them learn in preschool. I love the color blue, chocolate, and spending time with my family.

Harvest Night
Students may contribute an item that is related to theme or they may contribute a few dollars towards the purchase of the item. Again contributions are voluntary and appreciated.
Please send in your contribution in Friday October 21st to ensure adequate time to assemble the baskets. Proceeds from the raffle of the baskets help to defer the cost of field trips and many special programs for the Thacher/ ELC students. A bin will be outside the ELC office during Welcome Back Night on October 12, 2022 if you would like to drop it off then.
