Hello Shoreham Community!

This week, our fifth grade students were at KEEC (Keewaydin Environmental Education Center) for an end of year, cumulative experience.

They had an AMAZING week together. The staff at KEEC provide a holistic experience for students where they are pushed to take risks, communicate effectively, and practice being balanced in our natural world. It was incredible to see our kids rock climb, canoe, hike up big mountains, observe nature, and even fish in Lake Dunmore!

They made new friends with students from other ACSD elementary schools, and built positive connections and memories to take with them to middle school. The beautiful community that is built at KEEC is truly special, and I am so happy our kids got to be a part of it.

This traditional experience is only possible because of the support that Shoreham receives from the community. THANK YOU so much to everyone who donated, brought back bottles and cans, and so much more.

I can't wait to see our 5th graders back in the halls at Shoreham next week!

Dear Bridport, Cornwall, and Shoreham Families,

Thank you for engaging with our Principal Hiring Process. We invite all community members to offer feedback on the principal candidates. You can find the feedback form here (and it is located under "Latest News" on each of your home pages). Please fill out the form by Monday May 20th at noon so that our Superintendents are able to take all of your feedback into consideration while making final decisions about our candidates.

As we move into a new school year- I will share as much information as I can as quickly as I can. Here is what is known:

1. Our new school nurse is Danielle Morris! Dani comes to us from MAUSD where she has been an elementary school nurse for the past few years. She will be shared between Shoreham, Bridport and Weybridge. Welcome Dani!

2. Carrie Harvey, our School Based Clinician from CSAC will be with us 3 days a week next year. Hooray!

3. As we think about our two 4/5 classrooms- We'd love to get feedback from families of students in those cohorts. Please fill out the form here: https://forms.gle/C6uMpjWhzdAR2Wt27 to give your thoughts.

4. We are in the final stages of hiring our new third grade teacher. I will share more info as I can.

5. Many students were feeling big feelings or confused this week as principal candidates were touring our school. I assured them that I still want to be at SES, but wanted to reapply to make sure that Shoreham got the best principal possible. I care deeply about our students and families, and want to ensure that everyone has a voice in picking Shoreham's next building leader. Please fill out the feedback form linked above from the hiring committee to share your thoughts.

5th Graders are Fundraising for KEEC!

Our basket raffle has started! Check out the baskets in the front lobby and purchase tickets from Irene during school hours.

We will do the drawing on May 24th!

Shoreham Staff Wishlist
