February 2 - Make Up Snow Day
Reminder that Friday, February 2nd will be a normal school day in order to make up for the missed snow days in January.
February 5 - Board of Education Meeting
The Board of Education Meeting will be held on Monday, February 5th from 6:00-7:00P.
February 8 - Parent-Teacher Conferences
February 12 - Rising 9th Grade Class Registration Letter Sent Home & Rising 9th Grade 4-Year Plan Calendar Opens
Students and Parents will receive a letter regarding 9th grade registration from their respective middle schoolers. We encourage you check out Science Hill's Class Registration page here.
February 15 - Rising 10-12th Grade Parent Meeting
This meeting will be held on Thursday, February 15 at 6:00P in the Auditorium. Our counseling department will be there to discuss information on graduation requirements, class registration, advanced programs and parent tools.

February 22 - FAFSA Night
Our Niswonger Counselors are hosting a FAFSA Night on Thursday, February 22 from 3-6P! This is a great opportunity to sign up for an appointment to walk through the FAFSA application. Parents and Students will need to have an FSA ID created at least one week prior to the appointment. February 27 - Rising 9th Grade Parent Meeting
February 29 - CTE Open House Night
The Science Hill High School Career & Technical Education Campus will host an Open House on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., inside the CTE building, located at 251 Cotty Jones Lane. ALL AGES AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS ARE INVITED!

Career & Technical Education
The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Building is part of Science Hill's programs that help students prepare for what comes after high school.
With programs such as Advanced Manufacturing, A/V Production, Education, Health Sciences, and STEM, students have the opportunity to take courses designed to explore potential career paths, gain real world experience through Work-Based learning, and even earn college credit from our partnered colleges and universities through the duel enrollment program.
CTE will be hosting an open house night on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 3:30-6:30P, inside the CTE building, located at 251 Cotty Jones Lane. This Open House is a ‘hands-on experience’ for present and future SHHS Students. Come and see the wonderful programs that Science Hill High School has to offer our high school students. This event is open to all Johnson City students, parents, businesses and the public.

Getting Ready for Class Registration
The time has come for class registration for the 2024-2025 school year!
Please note that registration for courses does not officially open until February 15th for current Science Hill students. Now is a great time to check out the Class Registration Landing Page and look over the Program of Studies page to read more about the course offerings at Science Hill to prepare for selecting classes when the time comes.
Parents are invited to attend the Rising 10th-12th Grade Parent Meeting on February 15th at 6PM in the Auditorium hosted by our counseling department where they will be discussing information on graduation requirements, class registration, advanced programs and parent tools.
Information for Rising 9th Grade Students will be shared via a letter sent home from the middle schools on February 12th.

ACT Bootcamp
ACT Bootcamps are coming soon starting in February! These sessions are here to help students improve their overall scores in each test area along with learning the dos and don’ts for taking the ACT. The sign up link can be found HERE and please view the flyer for more information

Tuning in to Teens
ETSU is offering a FREE 6-session virtual parenting group program that's centered around building communication, help caregivers guide teens, learns coping skills to handle big emotions, and reduce conflict. Please click on the flyer for more information on how to sign up!
Class Bloomz
Bloomz is the texting app used by SHHS to text information such as scholarships, deadlines, meetings, and other pertinent information. To sign up for this service, simply download the Bloomz app on your phone and create an account. Then join the appropriate class using the course codes listed below.

Bloomz is another one of our communication outlets that allow for instant notifications about important announcements and reminders such as parent/teacher conferences, picture days and make ups, and event cancellations and reschedule dates. Student and Parent Forms
All student and parent forms can be found in our Main Office in two main places: on a grid on the wall by the main entrance or on our counters.

PTA Forms - How to sign up and be informed with PTA events and news.
JCS Communication Tools - Information on how to stay connected with Johnson City Schools.
Gradebook Portal Request Form - To request access to PowerSchool parent account.
Community Service Hours Form - Log form for students' community service hours. Must be signed by a the volunteer supervisor.
Transit Request Forms - Must be filled out, approved, and on file before students can use the school bus system.
Medicine Administration Permission Form - Must be filled out and turned into the nurse if students have medicine that needs to be taken during the school day.
Parent Observer Request Form - To request access to Canvas parent account.

Lunch Form - For more information about our lunch program. There is a QR code that will direct on how to fill out forms regarding free and reduced lunch.
School Map - For a layout of the school so that students are able to locate their classes.
