Pathfinder and Pigeon Point Community Restorative Circle

We will be holding our community restorative circle on Tuesday, November 16th. Please be sure to register!

Lunchtime Community Building Groups for BIPOC & Multiracial Scholars, K-8

We have hired a certificated School Psychologist/School Counselor to create and facilitate ‘Lunchtime Community Building Groups’ for BIPOC/Multiracial Scholars, K-8. Jamelia Alnajjar is a woman of color with over 10 years of experience in K-12 education and is a member of the Pathfinder community.


We hope to begin on Tuesday, 12/7.


Jamelia will be offering an Info Session for interested parents and scholars on Monday, 11/30 from 6:30-7pm. Please register here - even if you are unable to attend.


Attendance at the info session is not required for participation in the ‘Lunchtime Community Building Groups’. If you are interested in having your scholar join, please sign up using the link above as well.


As soon as Jamelia is assigned an SPS email address, I will include it in the Compass so interested families may contact her directly.

Climate Survey

This week students in grades 3 - 8 will be taking SPS’s Student Survey of School Climate is one data source that helps assess the degree to which the Pathfinder, along with SPS, is meeting its core commitments in social emotional learning and welcoming environments. We will be asking students 25 questions this Fall and again in Spring.

Pathfinder is continue to explore what it means to be in partnership with the Duwamish. While they are not yet a federally recognized tribe, we continue to advocate and pay tribute to the Native folx.


National Adoption Month

Let's help raise awareness about the thousands of teens currently in foster care who are waiting for their own permanent, loving families.

November Principle - Trans Affirming

We embrace and make space for trans brothers, sisters, and siblings to participate and lead while being self-reflective and doing the work to dismantle cis-gender privilege and uplift Black trans folks.


People know in their hearts and minds whether they are a boy, a girl, both, or neither. We call this gender identity. At Pathfinder, we respect people’s genders, and understand that being trans or non-binary is not a choice.

Pathfinder Wreath-Making

Save the Date! Nov. 18 - Dec. 12

We are pleased to announce that Pathfinder Wreaths are a go! For the past 20 years, we have been making and selling 100% homemade wreaths as a way to benefit outdoor education at Pathfinder. But it is much more than a fundraiser -- it is a community-raising event as well, and we encourage you to be a part of it!

This year, we will have five dispersed sites set up at Pathfinder homes where up to 4 to 5 adults can make wreaths, and we plan to host grade-oriented work parties where small groups of adults can learn to make wreaths and meet one another. Stay tuned for details.

Are you interested in being a part of the wreath team? We welcome new volunteers for roles big and small! Please contact Susan Elderkin at wreaths@pathfinderk8ptsa.org for more info.

Upcoming Listening Sessions

Our sessions will be happening on a six-week cycle. Our last session will be November 15th, will will begin again in January.

Lost and Found Fridays

Our lost and found is piling up! On Fridays we will pull the cart to the front of the school - please be sure to take your belongings home when you find them :)

  • To know all folx personally and professionally connected to the school. Further, allow others to know me as fully as possible outside day to day connection, crisis, and problem solving.


  • To use qualitative and quantitative data to determine concerns and issues regarding improving student performance that needs to be closely examined and addressed to repay the educational debt.


  • To learn the artifacts, beliefs, and basic underlying assumptions through engaging in essential conversations with Pathfinder students, staff, and community.


  • To identify, hold onto, and strengthen traditions that center students and bring the community together. Further, partner with students, staff, and the community to ensure social emotional learning and growth is embedded in the curriculum, adult strengths are highlighted, and we have fun!
