MEDICATIONS IN THE HEALTH OFFICE
The end of the school year is fast approaching. If your student has medications in the Health Office (daily medications, inhalers, EpiPens, etc.), make arrangements with the Health Office (651-621-7104 or carmelina.johnson@moundsviewschools.org) to collect them by the end of the day on Thursday (6/6). Any medication remaining in the Health Office after June 6th, the last day of school, will be properly disposed of.
EXCHANGE STUDENT - PART OF YEAR STAY
Help an exchange student next year for part of his stay! The Rotary Club of Arden Hills Shoreview is looking for host families for a student arriving from Austria for the 2024-2025 school year.
Leaonard Scheiber (11) arrives in late August 2024. Although he is German speaking, Leaonard has studied English for six years. He enjoys running, mountain biking and winter activities. Host families need to reside within the high school boundaries (not necessary to have students in the school). The commitment is for a period of 3½ months. This allows the student a variety of experiences during their stay.
The local Rotary Club along with the sponsoring program, North Star Youth Exchange has a variety of resources available. Contact Charlie Oltman coltman@comcast.net for information.
MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
Mental health is all around us - it affects how we think, feel and act every day. However, mental health is often misunderstood. Mental Health Awareness Month provides a dedicated time to help demystify what is meant by “mental health,” how to talk about it and why mental health matters. Supporting mental health is always in season in Mounds View Public Schools and there are ongoing efforts year round to lift up student mental health across the District. Reach out to your student's dean or a member of the district student support and engagement team to learn more. Check out this month’s blog for more support and resources!
