Boosterthon Fundraiser Information
Boosterthon Fundraiser:
Our annual Boosterthon Fundraiser begins tomorrow. This year's theme is World Changer Workshop. World Changer Workshop takes place at a seemingly normal but secretly magical makerspace. It follows 3 kids who are faced with a huge challenge - Can they change the world? If they don’t, a magical power source at the workshop could set off a world wide cataclysmic chain reaction. Thankfully there are past workshoppers who will teach them the steps to making a difference: find a need, write a plan, rally a team, launch their plan and grit it out! But, did we mention…they have one week to do it?
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The easiest way to help our school is to register your child on MYBOOSTER.COM. Did you know you can ask for pledges from ANYONE in the world? That’s right! We’re trying to get a pledge from all 50 states. Who knows someone from: Nebraska? Oregon? Connecticut? Tennessee? Let them know you’re helping your school and see if they’ll make a donation to help us reach our goal. Once on MYBOOSTER.COM, you can also use cool features like the Student Star Video and share your child's donation page to earn entries into the Disney Family Trip Giveaway!!
Click here to Register and Share on MYBOOSTER.COM!
🤩Remember, any funds raised DIRECTLY impact students and staff! Thanks so much!
Fundraiser Challenge/Incentive:
Each year we try to do something silly, fun, and memorable for the students as an incentive for logging in and participating in our fundraiser. This year, we have two big challenges for our students.
- Challenge 1: Back by popular request! If 50% or more of our student population logs in to MYBOOSTER.COM by Sunday, April 21st, then Mr. Nixon will get taped to the flagpole!
- Challenge 2: If we meet our goal of raising $25,000 to support our specialists and other school needs, the administrative team will dress up as KOALAs for a day!
Key Dates to Remember:
- Tuesday, April 16th--Boosterthon Fundraiser Begins
- Friday, April 26th--Boosterthon Fun Run
- Friday, May 3rd--Boosterthon Fun Run (Rain Date)

General School Information
Teacher Appreciation Lunch--Volunteers Needed:
Teacher/Staff Appreciation week is May 6th - 10th. The Northwoods PTA is hard at work planning special activities throughout the week. This year, we are planning a special lunch for all staff on Thursday, May 9th. In addition to a catered meal, we would like to provide all staff members with a duty-free lunch period from 12:00 - 12:45. However, we need volunteers to help cover classes during that time. Volunteers will help provide supervision to their assigned class. Responsibilities could range from leading students through a special classroom activity, covering lunch or recess duty, etc. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up using the link below.
Field Day:
Mark your calendars! Field Day is scheduled for May 17th with a tentative rain date of May 24th. Both dates have been added to our community calendar. General information about Field Day can be found on the slide deck linked below. We are also in need of volunteers to help run stations on Field Day. Please use the link below to sign up as a volunteer. Your help is appreciated!!
Non-Returning Family Survey:
Parents of current Kindergarten - 4th-grade students who are not returning to Northwoods for the 2024-25 school year are asked to complete this survey so that we may begin planning for future staffing needs. Families of rising 6th graders DO NOT need to complete the survey unless their child is transferring out of district or state.
Spring Pictures:
Spring Pictures are scheduled for Wednesday, April 18th. As a reminder, students will NOT receive an order form before our Spring Picture Day. Instead, packets containing pictures and directions for purchasing those pictures will be sent home 2-3 weeks after picture day.
Panorama Family Survey:
Helping students do their best in school requires a team effort. Parents, students, and schools all play important roles in this process. Help us make your child's school experience as positive and beneficial as possible by giving honest, thoughtful responses to the questions in our family survey from April 08 - May 17. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey using the link below so that your voice is heard.
End-of-Grade Testing Schedule:
End-of-Grade testing is right around the corner! To help you plan ahead, we have posted testing dates for each grade (3rd-5th) on our website, and I've attached a flier with testing dates for you. Please remember, all 3rd-5th grade students are expected to participate in EOG testing. The state is no longer approving exemption requests for travel purposes.
Hallway Monitors Needed During End-of-Grade Testing:
We need volunteers to serve as hallway monitors during our End-of-Grade testing window from May 27, 2024 - June 5th. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up using the button below.
