Sam Hughes Picture Retake day is next Tuesday, October 22!

Retakes will be taken in the morning.

If you want a retake because you are not satisfied with the original pictures, you need to send the original pictures in with your student.

If you need to order pictures for the first time, please pick up a picture order form from the main office and send it back with your student.

Please let your teacher know if your student will need to have a picture taken. Only students who have not yet been photographed, or who wish a retake will be photographed on retake day.

Help needed! We are looking for 4 volunteers to take on a two hour shift (either 8:30-10:30 or 10:30-12:30) to enable us to have a easy picture day. Volunteers need to already be cleared to volunteer in the 24-25 school year. Contact the main office at 520-232-7400 or cynthia.spencer@tusd1.org for more information.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, October 23rd for TUSD's Professional Learning Day. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday!

🔠 Spell-a-thon Fundraiser: Get Ready to Learn & Earn for our CREW! 🔠

The fundraising website goes live this Monday, 10/21! Help us hit our $10k goal by spreading the word and prepping students to ace their spelling tests. Your support is key!

Join us in the library before and after school October 28th-November 1st. Preview the fair and set up an e-wallet for you child here.

Ecology and Gardening News:

We had a very full week of planting in the gardens this week! Eleven classes worked in the gardens, preparing the soil and putting in seeds and starts. Thank you to all our parent volunteers who helped us kick off our flower and vegetable gardens!

In ecology news, we were surprised by the 3 adorable baby tortoises walking around the habitat this week!

The Sam Hughes PTA meets about once a month. In an effort to reach more families we will be alternating between morning and evening meetings- please see schedule below!

PTA meetings are a great way to meet other parents and stay on top of everything happening at school. Kiddos are welcome to come along! At meetings we plan events and keep everyone up to date on the latest news. Families are encouraged to give feedback and ask questions.
