Counselor Corner
Hi Parents! This month we will focus on resilience, perseverance, and grit. "Resilience, perseverance, and grit are skills that help us solve problems and do great things. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from challenges, especially when things do not go right the first time. Perseverance is trying again and again, even when things are hard. Grit is choosing to do hard things. When we do hard things we have the opportunity to learn from our mistakes. We even become stronger, smarter, and happier!
Learning new things requires patience. Patience is the ability to calmly wait for something we want. It is okay to be afraid, sad, frustrated, or angry when things are hard. However, using resilience, perseverance, and grit helps us remember that difficult moments are only temporary" (In Focus). Tell your student(s) about a time you bounced back from a challenge and how you kept going.
I am excited to work with you and your student(s). If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at mandy.cope@nebo.edu
