IMPORTANT INFORMATION
* Turner Drop off/Pick up is a continuous flow of traffic. Please do not park and leave your vehicle. Students must exit the vehicle from the curbside door. Be aware of the flow of traffic and be cautious when merging back into traffic.
* Greenwood Drive Drop off/Pick up- We will cone off and area in front of the gate for a No Parking Zone for a quick drop off for students. If you would like to walk your child on campus, please park across the street.
*** WALKING IS ENCOURAGED***
Thank you for your flexibility. It will be a great year!
Lakewood Community,
We are very excited to begin the 2024-2025 School Year. We have missed our Lakewood Lions and can not wait to see them soon.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
As you know, we have had quite a bit of construction on our site this past summer. We will soon have an amazing new parking lot that will help alleviate traffic congestion during arrival and dismissal.
I wanted to provide an important update regarding our parking lot project. Unfortunately, this extensive project will not be completed by the first day of school on Tuesday. July 30th. Our flexibility and positivity will make for a great start and our students will continue to have a safe and uninterrupted school day.
Here are the temporary measures that will be put into place.
1. Alternate Drop Off/Pick Up Locations:
Please see the stars on the map for the three areas of drop off/pick up. Turner Gate, Back/North Neighborhood Gate on Greenwood Drive, and Front Gate will be open and supervised before and afterschool. It is encouraged to use side gates since TK and Kinder drop off will be in front of the school. For TK and Kinder parents who would like to walk their students on campus, please find parking in the neighborhood and use front crosswalk to assist students. NO PARKING in front of school or Turner sidewalk. These areas will need to be clear of all vehicles for a safe and quick flow of traffic. ** Parking is prohibited in the City Bus Stop area on Turner Road, which is marked by the red curb. We will place a cone where the no parking zone begins.
2. Safety Patrol and Traffic Management:
Extra Staff and Teachers will be on hand to direct traffic and assist with students entering and exiting vehicles and safely onto campus. Please follow their directions, obey traffic laws, and move quickly to ensure a safe and smooth transition.
Please allow more time for students to safely enter and exit campus. We are grateful for the work on our campus and committed to a successful year! Thank you for your understanding and flexibility during this time. The estimated completion is September 2, 2024.
Thank you,
Mrs. Gresham and Lakewood Staff
