The Countdown Begins!

We have just a week of summer remaining and wanted to slowly make our way back into your inboxes with some important upcoming events and dates to save on the calendar! Dr. A's most recent School Scene email has loads of information. To help share info please encourage new families to check the School Scene email and share this with them. The PTO (e)mailing list takes a bit of time to get updated at the beginning of the year so families new to D23 won't see the PTO emails in their inbox quite yet.

The PTO Newsletter got a facelift!

We have moved towards a new platform, Smore, that allows families to translate the newsletter into 130+ languages with the click of the translate button! We are so excited to lessen the barrier for ESL families in D23 to learn more about the PTO and events and more inline with the D23 mission for inclusivity! For those with vision difficulties the newsletter allows for increased text size and contract under the "accessibility" tab.

Its not too late to sign up for D23 Directory Access!

You can sign up on the PTO Website or in the MTK App. It's not just access to classmates’ contact info, it is a significant fundraiser! The PTO website is also where you can view volunteer opportunities, and link to the District 23 calendar.

Upcoming Events

Donuts in the Park!

After your classroom sneak peek come join at 9:15 am on August 20th for a donut for each student at the Ross Playground! Your patience is appreciated as the majority of volunteers will be coming straight from the Sullivan and Ross Sneak Peeks!

D23 Parent Mixer

Save the date and schedule a sitter! The PTO will be hosting a Parent Mixer for September 14th at Gatsby's from 7-9. Pizza and heavy apps included, cash bar will be available. Ticket are now on sale on the here!

Fall Family Fest

Our D23 Admins will host Fall Family Fest on Friday, September 20, from 4-7 PM. The PTO will be selling pizza and drinks again in this year for dinner. Mac Student Senate will be selling dessert.

D23 Spirit Wear Swap

Have your kiddos aged out of a school or grown out of and you would like to pass those t-shirts on to someone who could use them? The D23 PTO is organizing a T-shirt Swap! Bring your CLEAN D23 school shirts or any D23 Spirit Wear to the Ross Playground during the Donuts in the Park after Sneak Peeks on August 20th. New Spirit Wear order forms will be available at the Parent Nights in late August and early September.

***If you have a Eisenhower shirt to pass on and would like it shared at the Kindergarten Playdate please email d23pto@gmail.com for a drop off location prior to Saturday, August 17th.***

DINING NIGHT OUT EVENTS

August Dining Night Out!

Join us for dessert with Kona Ice at Patriots Park from 6:30 - 7:30 PM on Sunday, August 18th! A portion of all sales will go back to the PTO. Invite family and friends in on the fun. You do not have to be a D23 Family to purchase from the Kona Ice truck for this event!

September Dining Night Out!

Panera will donate 25% of sales purchased using the code FUND4U online or at the kiosk in-stores on September 10th from 4-8 PM at the Randhurst/Mt Prospect location.

Please join us beforehand to mingle with other parents and staff. Note we have alternated the days of the week the meetings will be held this year, and as always, free childcare at each meeting will be available for those who need it!
