Celebrating Pride Month at The Butler: A Commitment to Belonging and Equity
June is a meaningful month at The Butler as we honor Pride Month, a time to celebrate the contributions, identities, and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. It is also a moment to reaffirm our ongoing commitment to creating a school environment where every individual is valued, affirmed, and supported.
At Butler, belonging is not just a word—it is a guiding principle. We take pride in being an inclusive school where students, staff, and families feel seen, heard, and respected. One of our core beliefs is to take care of ourselves, each other, and our community. This mindset drives our work and reinforces our commitment to equity and inclusion in every corner of our school.
Our dedication to fostering a sense of belonging shows up in our daily practices—through the way we build relationships, make decisions, shape curriculum, and organize events. We are intentional about ensuring that our choices reflect the diverse voices and lived experiences of our students and families.
The Butler stands firmly behind the belief: “Every Child, Every Educator, Every Day.” We understand that each student brings a unique story, strength, and set of needs. Our work is to meet those needs with care and intention—leveraging our collective resources to ensure every child has access to opportunity, support, and meaningful learning experiences.
We also hold fast to the pursuit of excellence—not perfection, but the consistent effort to grow, reflect, and rise. We believe that mistakes are powerful learning moments, and we embrace a growth mindset that encourages students and educators alike to be bold, compassionate, and resilient. By challenging predictable barriers and pushing past inequities, we prepare our students to be college- and career-ready with confidence and purpose.
Equity remains at the heart of all we do. We recognize that diversity strengthens us, and we are unwavering in our advocacy for fairness and access. We strive to eliminate obstacles that stand in the way of success and create a school community where every individual—regardless of identity—can thrive.
In celebrating Pride Month, we recommit ourselves to this work. We are proud to be a school that not only acknowledges the richness of our community but also actively works to build a culture where everyone belongs.
Together, let’s continue to uplift, support, and inspire every member of our Butler family.
Parent Portal Information
To access your child's academic progress, please visit the parent portal here: Parent Login.
If you do not have your login information, please contact us.
We are happy to assist and ensure you have access to track your student’s performance.
The portal is a key resource that fosters strong communication between school and home, helping you stay informed about your child’s academics and attendance. We believe this initiative will:
-
Empower students to take ownership of their learning.
-
Strengthen communication between parents and teachers.
-
Enhance the connection between home and school, benefiting student success.
Honoring Juneteenth as a School Community
Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th, marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in the United States were informed of their freedom—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. It is a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey toward justice and equality.
At Butler, we honor Juneteenth by recognizing the strength, resilience, and contributions of Black Americans throughout history and today. As a school community, we are committed to fostering spaces where all voices are valued, history is taught with truth and integrity, and every student feels seen and celebrated.
We encourage families to reflect together, engage in local events, read books by Black authors, and discuss the importance of freedom, equity, and community. By learning and growing together, we continue our shared work of building a more inclusive and just future—every child, every educator, every day.

Parent Coffee Hour
Each month, the school administration team hosts a Coffee Hour where we invite families to join us in conversation. While academic success is important, we also believe it's essential to focus on the overall development of the whole child. This is a great opportunity to discuss our efforts and collaborate on how we can better support your child’s needs.
We have translators available for English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic to ensure everyone can participate.
